Why don't we ignore the World Cup

I’ve had a mare. This World Cup just hasn’t stuck in my mind. Haven’t booked the day off for the Iran game so at work. The USA game I’m in Edinburgh for a concert. But had the silver lining of Boro at Hibs the next day. But the train strikes could put pay to all of that. Not sure if the day we play Wales but think it’s a 7pm game but the knock outs are likely to be early afternoon too. Not missed a tournament game for nearly 30 years since A level economics exam got in the way.

Wales is 5pm on the Tuesday after the USA game.

If we win the group, all knockout games until the final would be 7pm kick-offs. I think we play at 3pm Saturday in the 2nd round if we're runners up in the group.

Is that right? Hope so. Watch us not get out of the group now
 
It’s the World Cup it’s a once every 4 year event should they have got it absolutely not but I’ll still be watching it’s the biggest thing in football.

It’s also in a relatively European friendly time zone as well as the next one won’t be think 1 am kick offs as the norm.

Btw the us shouldn’t be hosting another one so soon either esp in this bloated ridiculous format.

I am not as excited as usual but I just can’t see what me not watching will achieve…

I understand if we all have that attitude nothing will happen say for things like climate change, but this tournament is going ahead regardless what we all do now so I’m just gonna watch away and grudgingly try to enjoy it.. if England don’t qualify, then I’ll boycott it 😉
 
Fair play to anyone boycotting but the fact is we didn’t kill those migrant workers ourselves, so the majority of us won’t take action, nor would it bring them back. Not saying that’s right (it’s not), but it’s the way humans work. We’re pretty flawed and selfish by and large.

And without us all taking action, nothing will happen. The time for action was 12 years ago, not two weeks before the tournament once we’ve all had a good long think about it but watched all the qualifiers etc and allowed other Middle Eastern states to infiltrate our own Premier League.
