Why has Gibbo lost interest?

It's only four years since the Brighton promotion game and the financial windfall that it brought. Since then we've had some frankly bizarre management appointments and a rapid decline.

I don't know how much interest Gibson does have these days. He's getting older, perhaps he doesn't have the focus these days. For example, I'm not sure any of the managers post-Karanka have received 'gift' players.

As for the money he puts in, well, he won't miss it. It won't affect his lifestyle. I don't think his ego would allow him to appoint a genuine CEO to run the club and who didn't have to defer decisions to him. Best situation is that he continues to put money in but lets someone with the capability and capacity to run the club to do just that.

He is so apathetic to the whole disaster, the place is falling to bits all round him but he fails to act.....

I’d say it’s simply the case that in previous years when he had a problem he could chuck money at the situation.

He’s no longer able to do that, so he’s having to rely on his instincts and management skills which have proven time and time again to be appallingly bad.

I'm so glad Gibson has acted because at least it should silence the critics who were saying he had lost interest.

He has left it late but nevertheless we are now in with a good chance of staying up.

He might just like it and it might not be as easy as it sounds. Robson was a masterstroke, McClaren too (with a great back room team) Southgate maintained and suffered through poor recruitment.

Strachan was the worst, Mowbray had to fix the club, Karanka and clever loans worked well. Agnew, Monk, Pulis, Woodgate were all dreadful appointments. Warnock is like a breath of fresh air (which I never thought I’d say)

Gibson is still interested, but has made mistakes and then had to balance the books in the last 30 months.

I don't for one minute think he's lost interest in the club, just that he's now struggling to pick the right man to take us forward

We have brought Warnock in 4 years to late, this team is awful & he's probably scratching his head at what he has to do, maybe Pulis was better than we thought
