On the other hand, the grim reality is that moaning and pulling everything and everyone down is sadly who we are. It's just what we do. I hate this place when things aren't going well for the team.
What's there to be positive about with that?
The first leg was nearly 2 months ago, and I doubt anyone is thinking fondly about the 6-1 capitulation of 6 weeks ago.
It was one of the easiest cup runs we'll ever manage to get, with Bolton the only side who weren't struggling, and we were then humiliated when we played a mid-table Premier League team.
We beat Huddersfield - currently 21st in the Championship.
Bolton - 2nd, doing well but in League One.
Bradford - 15th in League Two.
Port Vale - 22nd in League One.
If we're struggling in the league, and we really are right now, reminiscing about beating cannon fodder in an incredibly kind cup run isn't going to cheer many people up.
Fluking a 1-0 win against Chelsea was the only impressive result in that run, and all the positivity from that was thrown away with a suicidal strategy and terrible performance in the second leg.
I bet you're fun at parties.
The idea that fans of other clubs in this position wouldn’t feel negative is also laughable.I'm a barrel of laughs.
I just don't feel the need to try and pretend that our cup run was impressive to try and deflect from what's turned in to a bad season.
People are negative right now because we're having a bad time of it, it's entirely understandable.
We didn't fluke that win against Chelsea we were excellent
