And a lot weren't as well.A week ago lots of posters on here said he was playing excellent.
Sporar had a decent shot saved against Fulham, Watmore got into a good position and really should have scored at the end. Connolly never looked like scoring today - the offside was a mile off. I personally thought Sporar and Watmore did better on Wed than Connolly and Balogun today.
Fair play to you for saying soMust say he was absolutely shambolic today.
he was very poor today, he's been alright in the 4 or 5 previous games.Wilder has been brilliant since he arrived. It’s undeniable. It’s also undeniable that today there were any number of players well below par and deserve criticism. Connolly though put in a carbon copy performance of all of the others he has put in. That’s as well as he can do, and he’s dreadful. Offers precisely nothing.
If Connolly starts next game safe to say it’s some sort of contractual obligation.
I’ve given him the benefit of the doubt as he tries hard but unfortunately isn’t at the level required.
I was listening to it on the radio as driving and Maddison said nothing in it and not a penalty.Haven’t seen it again but it looked a penalty to me
Sporar is a bit of a nothing player too. Better finisher (marginally) but not sure what else he offers. He's not started 3 matches already, there's not going to be an obligation for him to start, I think it's just Wilder hoping it finally clicks and not rating Sporar at all.
The difference is that the 5 or 6 that were dreadful are usually miles better. That performance from Connolly is a carbon copy of every other Boro performance he’s put in. That’s as good as he gets.he was very poor today, he's been alright in the 4 or 5 previous games.
But he was one of 5 or 6 that were dreadful today. Matt Crooks was worse and has been for his last 3 games.
I've got no issue with Connolly being dropped next match, or Lumley or Crooks
that's an opinion, but no one I concur with, Connolly usually works really hard, and causes mistakes from panicked defenders. He usually does better than yesterday. But he does need to show a lot more goal threat, I think it's partly confidence, seem an emotional lad, lets his frustrations get to him, and the lack of goals is clearly playing on his mind. I still think he will make it at this level, but probably not with us and probably a couple of seasons from nowThe difference is that the 5 or 6 that were dreadful are usually miles better. It's also fair to say Lumleys performances are not miles better than yesterday, or to say that Crooks has been very poor for about 6 weeks. all three should be benched to be honest
Of course it’s an opinion. My bet would be that my opinion is held by the huge majority.that's an opinion, but no one I concur with, Connolly usually works really hard, and causes mistakes from panicked defenders.
