Will Isaiah reach his potential at boro?

His footballing basics are very poor, he got away with his trickery and pace and now he’s been found out, I really do feel for the lad he looked a potential world beater.

Last appearance I saw, he looked like a bombed out impersonator of his former self. Refusing to take a man on and go down the line, or inside for that matter.
Just looked content playing passes backwards for his team mates to play it across the park to Giles who would try.

I hope Jones can find his form again. Regardless. He will be gone come summer.

think Carrick asks more from him than previous managers, where under the managers before we were struggling to attract decent talent, we had no pace in the team, so when we lucked out on jones we were just glad to have some one fast in the team who contributed to goals regularly,

now I think Carrick wants more depth to his game and don't think he fits the system no more and we are not dependant on him, his goal contributions are still decent this season but think it's not enough for our manager

I'd be extremely disappointed to see Jones go. He's got bags of talent at this level. He's been unlucky that he's had the chance to play himself into form because of the form players in the team ahead of him. If we get an offer we can't refuse, it's difficult to argue against letting him go when he's not in the team.

‘His footballing basics are very poor’ - no one said that for the past two seasons
‘He looked like a world beater’ - he looked really good in the championship

oh dear sexpom, I thought you were one of the sensible ones.

He’s a right wingback and Marcus Forss offers more attacking wise, plus we brought in Ramsey in January.

If we manage to get promoted, we need everyone to work in the system.. plus Isaiah is a huge asset. It would be unfair to keep him here us holding him back. Someone said Watford which was a good shout but I don’t think they could afford him.

West Ham in a swap deal involving Ben Johnson?

Whatever gave you that impression? ;)

My only concern is that not only is he not making the bench but he wasn’t involved for the reserves either, so basically he’s just not playing.

There’s clearly an issue somewhere and you’d assume we’ll all find out what in the summer.

The championship and the lower leagues have plenty of players like Isiah Jones.

Players that can look really top rate when the team is set up in a particular way, playing specific tactics to exploit his strengths, but sadly, don't have the overall nous or ability to play several other styles of play or formations.

His pace and trickery last season worked really well for him at times but you could see he didn’t do the basics very well, ball control, passing, crossing, shooting. This season his form has dropped off the edge of a cliff and it’s obvious Michael carrick doesn’t fancy him or trust him whatsoever.

I have never been called sensible in my life newy!

Bad apple in the camp? He's soon been forgotten about

Just looked he's 23 so too old to play reserve team football?

I would say that he is a talented player and he does the basics very well.. but the players we have brought in are more effective in the current system we play. I'm not writing him off just yet.
