Will the new Mayor get a grip on begging in Middlesbrough town center ?

I know he wants to intervene to stop so many evictions from housing and so that we don't have so many people liviing in tents.

So you live next to a crack den, with condoms and pond life causing havoc.

The council do a house closure and move said pond life out and he wants to stop that? Why

Guy in the Gazette two months ago who was jailed for begging he had full benefits and was a junkie.

The new major is not reading the room if that is the case Rob.

I have only met the new mayor twice and briefly - why don't you ask him.
I merely mention that he told me evictions, not necessarily for crack houses, were higher than he would like. And he wanted to tackle that part of the homeless problem in Middlesbrough.

So say you landlord and are not receiving rent, the tenant is causing havoc, drug taking, causing anti social behaviour.

You have invested in a property for your pension. The tenant doesn’t pay rent and you are getting pressure from the council to sort it out.

People who come to Middlesbrough to study live in the same street at said problem tenant. Nobody will want to invest or live in the town of this is the situation.

I am massive labour voter but I will be emailing the new mayor if this is his policy.

See the Gazette article from this month.

Nobody is saying that there should be no evictions so why are you flagging up extreme situations and assuming that nothing will be done about them?

While I see your point - and going off topic a bit - the actual people who work in bank branches are not that highly paid
Thats not the point. This country has bailed out economic failures with our money. Where is the money and investment to help those who need help to help themselves?
Its in the pockets of bankers, hedge-funders and mates of crooked politicians. Thats "Begging".
