An increase of that amount based on the current inflation figures is probably fair enough, cost of everything for the club will have gone up by the same or a higher percentage.
Problem is the tickets are already significantly overpriced and have been for years now, it’s not value for money even based on what other clubs charge
Expect we could be back to playing in front of 15k empty seats if the club aren’t careful

Well I doubt many people will rush and renew on day 1 anyway. Even if they are planning on doing it in this window. 2 more defeats this week and Boro potentially being in 13th-15th place in the table might really make peoples minds up

my twopennyworth .. As an ex-pat the £180 for all the games is a no brainer .. Thailand is at the moment a dark market mainly down to the time difference ... 3pm KP are 10pm at night and night matches around 3am ... most Thais are tucked up in bed by 9pm ... anyway I am happy to pay so will renew, If I was in the UK I would not get a season ticket tho based on this seasons slump and apparent lack of ambition ... walk ups and wait for a mid season ticket if things are looking up

Yes no question, I enjoy meeting up with the various people I see at every match, have sat with the same people forever and I’d miss that. Also I’m pragmatic enough to know we won’t win every week so I still enjoy the game.

I'm really undecided.
It's not that we'll miss out promotion, but I've forgotten the good feeling of going home after a good display. It's poor at the moment and I struggle to see what will kick start us into a good run. However the biggest factor is my disenchantment with football currently, poor officials, changes to rules, off-side, goal kicks, VAR (I know not in this league) players falling over pathetically, time wasting 'injuries' to manage the game. It used to be a fair contest between two sides.
I've opened myself up for criticism I know, but that's how I'm feeling.
As an armchair fan I’m ok with watching from a far but ai have to admit I’m not feeling good about things even though MC has done an ok job. My main problem is that the big money in the game has diluted everything to the point where the Championship and lower leagues are just feeder clubs now to the top 10 clubs.

The loss of Akpom in the summer and now the fiasco with Rogers and while I thought Crooks was on his way out I felt it was poor management by the club.

When Charlie Amer was chairman we kind of knew what he was all about — not interested in anything other than himself and possibly driving the club to the wall.

Enter Steve Gibson who brought us hope and delivered with so many great moments. However I feel the bus has now left the station with him also, maybe I’m wrong but the football pyramid is nearly done in terms of being competitive like it was 30 years ago.

However it still is a great form of entertainment and not forgetting it’s given the youth of today opportunities way beyond what we had back in 20th century or the early part of this millennium.

Not for me. It’s a bridge too far. I’ll just pick and choose the odd game. Pains me to write that as I love going to the match but I can’t justify it at this cost anymore. Plus, part of me objects to it in principle - how dare they charge more than some upper PL clubs? It’s a disgrace. Would rather use the money to do things with my wife and daughter.

Plus there’s always Stockton or Redcar to get my live football fix. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm not a season ticket holder as I live too far away but I watch almost every game online now. Given the rate of inflation I don't suppose you can expect the club to absorb the increased costs they will face. The short deadline does seem ridiculous on the face of it. I wonder if its a tactic to encourage people to use finance deals. Does the club offer finance directly?

Yes, but it isn't interest free.

So they will make more money from 'encouraging' fans to use it then?
Possibly, though they aren't 'actively' encouraging its use as far as I can see.

As I say, the tone of the whole thing feels as if they really don't want increased attendances next season, and are perhaps trying to make some kind of point to the EFL about streaming or something.

They uaed to offer zero finance via Zebra but you paid £20-25 admin/arrangement fee

I will be able to afford it after payday but it's getting harder and harder justifying paying it.

A £30 increase doesn't suddenly make a season ticket unaffordable for me, but I suppose it's the principle of the matter. How on earth can the club justify increasing the prices when we already had some of the highest prices in the league. Teesside is one of the most deprived areas of the country.

It also feels like a kick in the teeth when you also take into account that it's been a pretty underwhelming league campaign.

I'm undecided right now to be honest.

No, but the effect of the short deadline will push people who want to renew in to the finance option or they will risk missing out on the early bird price.

I am undecided.

Deal breaker for me is not being forced to go to a digital ticket. I have emailed the club to seek clarification before me I renew.

Last season the club lied to the fans forum and sprung this on us four days before the start of the season.

The 80s was pretty bad. But we still went.
Its been up and down all my life. We had a good run in the prem and won a cup but then it was back to the norm.
It is totally understandable that people stop buying season tickets. Its not like we are selling out every home game, is it?

When I was in my 20s, the match was the centre of my social life and I would have bought a season ticket for the Vauxhall Conference if I had to.
It really bothered me when I gave up my ST but it had been coming for years.
