On the back of the dark ales thread, wondered if anyone indulged? Used to but haven't lately since the craft ale revolution landed
They can be a bit hit n miss but the Belgians seem to have mastered it.
Decided as the festivities would be mostly at home to stock up
Got a delivery from Belgiuminabox who seem to do belgian beer much cheaper than anyone else

I tried Co-op's Winter Ruby Ale (on the right) at the weekend and I have to say, it was a lovely drop and at 4.2% not too damaging. Brewed by Robinson's of Stockport

I've had both the Delirium Christmas and the Leffe Winter. Both are very nice.
I think the only issue with Belgiuminabox is that the delivery charges are quite steep.
Locally the Green Dragon Ale House in Whitby has a fantastic bottle shop and tap room.

They are, but quite a few beers i got were less than half the price of any UK sellers so saved a bit, their prices are in euros too.
Remember gordons xmas ale doing some damage a few years back at least I think I remember.😁

I had the the festive one from the Whitby brewery behind the abbey a few weeks back.

Name escapes me but it was rum based beer and it was lovely. £3.30 for a 500ml bottle
