Here's something that passed us by during the latest games...

It's now mathematically impossible for us to finish in the bottom third of the table😜

Whether we finish in the top third or the middle third remains to be seen of course. Banishing all talk of the playoffs in this thread (aside from ok I know it's mathematically possible and IF we were to beat Hull I'd have that awful "just maybe" that kills you still perhaps) then finishing in the top 8, despite having to overhaul most of the squad so we had strangers playing and most of the squad 'finding their feet' in the first 7 games PLUS of course the injury crisis from hell, probably would be a pretty decent achievement, all things considered.

And as said there's A LOT of things to consider!

Do you have a Supercomputer by any chance ?
 
I think we're on course for having had an acceptable season, overall, considering all the disruption.

I'll be happy if we end the season having:

won more games than lost
finished in top 10
finished above the mackems
found some good young players for a better push next season
keep hold of our better players like Hackney and McGree (and their recent absences might actually work in our favour this summer), and formed the basis of a squad that needs some quality added
Don't have to look at our two terrible kits again

We have achieved some things that have gone under the radar
most number of players scoring 5 or more goals in a season
Finally scored at Stamford Bridge and against Chelsea

Solid, not spectacular.

I'd agree with all of this. 👍

Finishing higher than the deckchairs should be the easiest bit to obtain.
