Woodgate Statement

You can't help but feel for him, he's a Boro fan end of the day and all of us would have taken the job in his position, sadly its not worked out.

Must have been hard to put that message out there so quickly, would have been very easy to hide away and not say anything so massive respect for that.

Also maybe reading too much into it but doesn't sound like he's staying on at the club to me from that statement.

At the end of the day he's a fan like us, a bloke with a family like us & good on him to put a statement out like that, he must be hurt that he's failed at his club, yes he'll be compensated, but money wont have been an issue to him anyway

Hopefully he'll bounce back & have some role in our football club, I never understood how people can use the word hate when talking about Woodgate but we move on & hopefully we have enough time to secure our championship status, then keep Neil Warnock at the football club for his last pop at promotion, CV complete & retire (y)

Can feel how gutted he is reading that but deep down he knows it’s the right decision, he wouldn’t want to the club he loves to go down to league 1. At least now there is enough time for us to rectify the situation. Good luck in the future Woodgate.

If that's how he feels then maybe he should have walked for the good of the club.

Some talk on twitter saying Warnock was in charge yesterday and the news this morning was just a smokescreen.

Very touching you can feel his disappointment . He’ll have no bother ever in Boro as he genuinely gave his best .

I agree with that, he tried his best but as we all suspected was out of his depth. He should never of been put in the position and it showed at times, but he gave it his all and he’s one of us so I think it would be right of us just to wish him well.

Time to look to the future

I never wanted him, always new this would happen, but had I have been offered the job I would have snapped the chairmans hand off too. All Woody is guilty of is living every schoolboys dream and many a grown mans for that matter too.
He tried his best, he came up short, he was maybe a little too easy going behind the scenes.

Best of look for the future Woody. I am sorry to say I think you were set up to fail in truth, I hope you succeed somewhere in the future.

That statement showed some real class to be fair (y) (anyone know who wrote it....... Joke :p)

Depends what he wants going forward. I'd guess he thinks he's got a chance in the future of being a manager again and if that's the case, there's no way he can stay on in a lesser role. If he accepts he's not cut out for management or a head coach role, then maybe he will.

Feel for him. Don't expect to see him manage anywhere else, except perhaps his lad's junior team. I am more angry at the shambolic appointment in the first place and the fact he was given so long when clearly it wasn't right. There was some improvement at Christmas, but by February it was obvious he wasn't the man and never would be!

We'll coluka, we got our wish in the end

It'll be interesting to see how Robbie Keane future in management pans out, another excellent footballer who the media spoke of as being a top manager in the making when we were in for him
Warnock has spoken in the past of how he wanted to work for Gibson & even mentioned he should have worked alongside Gareth to help him along, maybe so but for me you've either got it, or you haven't, Neil Warnock certainly does & I'm chuffed he's here
