another vote for Gout. After being diagnosed and telling the Dr to "fook off" because I wasnt Henry the 8th, he told me that its more and more common.
he also said that if you imagine the pain if you were to put your hand in a vice and tighten with your other hand, thats the pain associated with Arthritis, but if you were then to tighten it with an 2ft tube on the vice handle, thats the pain of gout.
I also had bursitis in my right foot and needed an injection, which I stupidly thought would go in from the top of my foot, but noooooooo, it went 5 or 6" down between my toes and was agony. I asked the Dr if it was supposed to be painful, and he replied that 75% of people feel no discomfort at all, then said "look, there are 4 of us in this room (dr and 2 nurses and me) and you are the only one complaining"
