Updated: the list of choices has now reached the limit.

If a company you want to nominate is not available in the list please mention them in comments. I will count them up when the poll closes.

As someone who gets deliveries most days to my home address (in East Dorset), all the companies have really upped their game in the last few years and the service has been fantastic, and faultless as far as I can remember. The IT systems they use now are incredible - it takes a lot to impress me..... but credit where its due.

edit. yodel used to be by far the worst.

Having seen some of the van hijackings going on in places like London, Liverpool, Manchester etc I think that might have a negative effect on the drivers efficiency. I know I'd be wary of being stopped for anything more than the minimum time possible.

I used to actively avoid retailers who used Evri, but now we have a local driver who we have got to know and he is excellent.

I think at this time of year, its pretty much pot luck, what with the number of seasonal or short term delivery operators being used.

last week we had a parcel left in the wheelie bin on bin day, even though there was someone in the house all day, and the bin itself had several bin bags of rubbish in it. It was only when the post was delivered did we see a DPD card scrawled with crayon laying on the mat.

A couple of years back, I opened the front door to go and walk the dog, and surprised the 5hit out of a DPD guy posting a "sorry we tried to deliver your parcel" card through the front door. He obviously hadnt knocked, and was actually in a little red fiesta with no parcels in it (not a van) clutching a huge wad of failed delivery cards. Cheeky fooker.

My worst 3 are Yodel, Yodel and Yodel.
I stopped buying kegs from Beer Hawk due to the constant faf with Yodel. They would just flat out lie and say stuff had been delivered and signed for when it hadnt, then provide a shaky picture of a completely different house with a completely different parcel on the front step.

They once delivered me a telly two weeks late. As the guy stood on the doorstep the telly dropped out (the box looked like it had seen rough sleeping duty). The guy shoved the now shattered telly back in the box and said 'here you go mate'.

Yodel are by far the worst , Royal Mail are making a great effort to catch them up.
Evri had a bad reputation but its often down to your local driver, our old driver was useless but I think we have a new one and the 1st impressions are good.

Just to add Mrs Redpete who buys loads of items from Next and similar shops online has said they are now charging for returns and she wont be using them anymore which will reduce the couriers around us by 25% :ROFLMAO:

I had always had a decent experience with Evri/Hermes and agree it's down to your local driver. Ours is great, However, they have recently lost a parcel from House of Fraser that I placed online. They have it received at their sorting office but then it never tracks through to delivery. This was 6 weeks ago. I have stopped receiving updates and I haven't received a refund. House of Fraser keep referring me back to Evri. I can't actually get through to anybody on the phone and the online chat is a waste of time. This thread has actually just reminded me I need to chase this up again.

It's about 400 quids worth of gear as well and I had to re-order from House of Fraser.

So for that reason Evri have gained promotion to the crappest courier company. Yodel are also poor.
I find Royal Mail to be the best.

I must be lucky because Evri have always been decent for me, if anything Royal Mail are useless and will actively choose to leave a parcel on your doorstep instead of knocking.

Good posties in our area though we seem to have lost our "regular" lady postie (who was lovely, yet professional and very efficient)

The rest are much of a muchness. Amazon just this morning left a large parcel just dumped on the front doorstep in full view from the street, whilst I was walking the dog, they weren't to know when I'd be back. But usually, as I WFH mostly, I don't have a problem.

People will have a coronary if you don't add Evri, and by the way, my Evri delivery drivers are quality, we feel we have got to know them and they always ask after the family.
I saw mine at Stewart Park Farmers Market on Sunday and I was WTF, double take. Was strange not seeing him at my front door!!

Looks like there is a limit on the number of choices. So for companies not on the list please mention them in comments. I will then count up those votes at the end. Then put them in the description text.
