Writing to your local MP about the Downing St parties?

MPs are busy at the best of times and some are good constituency MPs, I've found. Why flood them with emails when somebody has an urgent problem they need help with. It's not China, you can vote in elections.
I agree, this time last year my MP was tied up with the urgent business and constituency critical matter of getting the Leader of the House of Commons to try a Parmo, plus it takes time defending the indefensible and to fall inline with Operation Save Big Dog...personally I can't think of anything more pressing or important than holding to account the man who has not just made and broke the rules but continues to lie about it, you're correct it's not China so we shouldn't expect or accept the behaviour and disdain shown by Johnson but use our democratic right to demonstrate our anger and annoyance at what he has done and his continued lack of accountability.

Whilst I appreciate the point your making Anton, they will filter out and prioritise. My reply took 5 days, I sent an email on something else the next day and it took 12 hours for a reply.

In my email i asked my MP if he wanted to be remembered as a good constituency MP that worked primarily for his constituents or whether he wanted to be known for putting the Tory party first. I also pointed out that his recent knighthood award would not look good if it was seen to be a reward on the back of supporting a lying lame duck buffoon to hide behind civil servants in his own homes garden. I pointed out that most workplaces have policies on alcohol and drugs at work and was sure the civil service would be no different.

Just written to Ian Levy in Blyth Valley:-

'
Hi Ian,

I am writing to you as my MP to express my absolute disgust with the Prime Minister and his continued inability to tell the truth. The 'PartyGate' scandal has shown Boris Johnson as completely unfit to lead our country during these difficult times.

The position of Prime Minister should be held in the highest regard in our country and those who have the priviledge to hold it MUST be held to the high standards expected of it. Boris Johnson has failed to do so on many occassions though his current lies in regards to the 'PartyGate' scandal are a step too far.

I am calling on you as my MP to write a letter of no confidence to the 1922 committee - the anger that this has caused amongst your constituents is very real, with people unable to say farewell to loved ones as they have passed away disgusted by the actions of a 'man' who should be leading by example in his role as PM.

I shouldn't need to remind you that your majority in Blyth Valley is one of the smallest of any constituency in the UK; by supporting Boris Johnson and not calling for his resignation it is very likely to lead to the removal of many Conservative councillors at the local elections along with your removal as MP come the next General Election.

I urge you to show some consideration for the views of the people who elected you and call for his resignation without delay.'
I wonder if your reply will be a carbon copy of mine?? I specifically asked not to wait for the outcome of inquiry.

Thank you for your email.

I have received a number of emails from constituents about events at Downing Street and can appreciate their strength of feeling, particularly among those who were prevented from seeing members of their own family at that time. My own family was affected by this - unable to see my wife's mother when she was dying in a nursing home. I understand the real anger at reports that those in power were not abiding by the rules. The public deserves better than this and I have made this clear to the Prime Minister.

It is right that we await the findings of the inquiry being conducted by senior civil servant Sue Gray into this and other gatherings. Waiting for the inquiry is not, on my part, an attempt to avoid the issue, but to ensure that we can be aware of the facts. It is important that the inquiry is conducted as swiftly as possible as we will be better placed to consider what further action should be taken. I assure you that, at that time, I will bear your comments in mind, as well as those of other constituents and thank you for taking the time to get in touch

With best wishes

I have received the exact same copied and pasted response.

There is zero chance he will be re-elected, the locals seem to despise him these days.

Once the whitewash report comes out I’ll be emailing him again.
