Zach Hemming

I try to catch as many St Mirren matches as I can and Zach has been outstanding every time I have watched the Buddies this season. He played his part in a big win today against Aberdeen.

Player of the match - Zach Hemming (St Mirren)

Zach Hemming
Aberdeen had plenty of chances but they rarely looked like beating the on-loan Middlesbrough goalkeeper

Seems like we have decent goalkeepers in abundance. Will be interesting to see what we do with them next year. It would be nice to give at least one of the local lads a try.

Don’t know if it is timing, but Dieng and Glover on fairly long term contracts. I think Hemming will eventually get sold and Brynn will hopefully get a chance. However doubt he would be happy with being third choice so maybe a lower end championship loan possibly next season.

As above but Brynn gets sold and Zach Hemming gets his deserved chance. ZH has been a playing at a higher level and been up to it.

Hes pretty useless with the ball at his feet from what i have seen of him

That doesnt matter in the sunday league level of scottish football, the keepers there outside of the OF just hoof it straight down the pitch

I know a lot of fans think that is secondary, but the dynamic of keepers has changed drastically in the last few years , especially with boro as the keeper
is often an auxilliary centre back who has to be proficient with the ball at his feet regardless how good a shot stopper they are

Yeah gotta say the 1st and 2nd Div's are certainly a step above the Scottish premiership 🤣.
Chances untill he gets a manager who asks him to play with his feet more he's not going to do it.

Hope he makes a good career for himself.

I think it's unlikely it's going to be at Boro.

Given Dieng is fairly young still, on a long term contract, and has been excellent, I think there's a decent chance that neither he or Brynn are still on the books in a few years.

Would be a shame as they're both highly rated.
