Carlton Morris - In your head Gesture to Mowatt

Did anyone else see it the other night? After he scored the penalty that was never a penalty he pointed at his head and I'm no lip reader but said something along the lines of 'We're in your fu**ing head '

Does it run that deep with Luton? Because even after the other night I don't think our lads will be worried at all about them.

I know he's got 20 goals, but he was In a battle with a center midfielder who's playing Center Back at the age of 34 and was in his pocket.

Are they the ones rattler thinking our players actually care that much about them?

Lmfao I'm not bothered by it, I'm just genuinely curious if Luton and their players are going full blown Sheffield United on us haha 😆

If he did say that I would say he was projecting. We were the better side and without our top scorer.

I saw it, but I don't think it was how you suggest... I agree more like saying he was using doing the right thing (in his opinion) to go down as he thought there was enough contact (there wasn't).

I noticed Steffen reacting to one of their fans in the crowd though, must have been giving him some lip after the penalty.

A bit of psychology that might rebound on them if we meet again this season.

Whoever the ref is, they'll be aware of what happened on Monday. They will be watching Luton for any diving; wouldn't it be an irony if they were denied a legitimate penalty becasue of what happened on Monday?

I think their fans are getting a bit deluded. They were ringing talksport yesterday morning saying how great they were and how they'll beat us again at Wembley. They haven't lost in 12, which is admirable, but if we do meet in the play offs, we'll have a much stronger team and won't fall for their tactics again.

I've said it elsewhere, Carrick has played a blinder here. Their players will know we were by far the better team on the day. A day where (fortunately) the result didnt matter. A rare thing in championship football. And they will also be fully aware that we were hugely under strength. Keeping Chuba back from the game but letting him study their defenders is priceless. We know a lot more about them, and they know very little more about us. Masterstroke from Carrick in his team selection and managing the whole psychology of the situation.

Even if we can get one or two key players back fit (Fry, Ramsey, and Forss maybe), I'm confident we can gain promotion.

He rested a key player, that’s it.

It’s not a part of some huge chess game

I thought by lip reading that the Luton player was saying repeatedly to Steffen that he ‘tried to stay up’, obviously in answer to being accused of going down too easily.

I agree with the poster above that it is by no means a given that either Boro or Luton will get to Wembley so Mondays match was a dead rubber in reality hence our weakened team. It meant nothing.

Im not remotely concerned at the prospect of playing Luton again and I strongly suspect that all of the other teams in the play offs contention will be bricking it at the prospect of playing the team who have scored the most goals in the league and can go from being a goal down to ripping them apart in a matter of minutes
