To be honest, these were two teams I've fancied right from the off thus season and I think the reason why is that they and their fans deserve it. Their success had a 'written in the stars' quality. Karma was in play somehow.
Coventry were a biggish club - at least as big as us - when I was a kid. They were a bit of a bogey team, and their decline was alarming if you think of it that it could've been us. We were locked out of our ground for a few weeks; they were locked out of theirs for several years. It's same as Brighton: the fans who stuck with them - respect!
Luton the same. I have in-laws and students who are season tickets there and they're a proud club, with a loyal fanbase. Because it's an Irish town maybe, I see them a bit like Portsmouth: a Southern club with a Northern flavour.
So good luck to both. I'm rooting for your top quality fans. We've had our days in the sun relatively recently, and whoever goes up, it'll be good to see them back in the big time.
