How long before a woman is manager of a football league team?

Pros. A number of women hold top jobs in big compainies so possibly better decision makers. Cons, no football league experience

Don't be silly, it's like hiring a under 12s manager cause he won the world cup. Won't happen.

Did you see the earlier post ref sexism?

Wenger and Mourinho had the equivalent of Northern league experience as players before progressing into management.

Emma Hayes already fits the bill. Straight talking no nonsense manager. Good insight and tactically astute. She has experience at a big club at the top of her league and in Europe as well.
But premier clubs have a short "success time" that's why the find it difficult to appoint male managersBritish

When it does happen I think it will be along the lines of the Forest Green thing i.e. someone who has been working their way up in a club for a while and gets a proper opportunity to take the manager role, when will it happen? I'd hope within the next 5 years but I'm not sure it will.

They weren't top players but they had a lot of experience within football before becoming managers. Wenger coached youth/reserve football before getting assistant jobs at lower league clubs before getting a manager's job. Mourinho started right at the bottom, and really got his break through being a translator for Bobby Robson and then worked as an assistant for him and then some of the best managers at the time before he got a manager's role.

Emma Hayes has mentioned in the past that she thinks her experience means she should be getting a top job and she'd rather be at the top of the women's game instead of the lower leagues of the men's game. She seems to talk a good game whenever I've seen her so no reason why she couldn't be a decent manager in the men's game but she's going to have to accept she's a risk and take a lower league job before anyone is going to give her a PL job.

If England win the World Cup then Sarina Wiegman’s name should definitely be in the mix to replace Gareth Southgate.
Well I've won that bet with my daughter quickly! The bet was if the women win the world cup, how quickly will people use this unrelated fact to bash Southgate on line (even if slightly joking). The answer seems to be -3 days! :ROFLMAO:

He would have if he'd been any good. Schoolteacher takes a team into the first Premier League, so I'm pretty sure he'll have had under 12 management experience. Perhaps not?
Did he not play semi pro? Which is a much higher standard than women's football. And I was just referring to the plonker who mentioned that a woman could be considered for thr England job on the back of winning the women's World cup, but then again the more I look at the statement its a FA wet dream.
