Do some of you think you might be slightly over-reacting?

If you don’t think we’re in trouble after that yesterday then yes you are.

Btw I bet carrick is worrying as he’s no fool he knows exactly how bad we are.
we are in trouble IF we carry on as we did yesterday and the last couple of away games, IF we continue to defend so bad. I'm not concerned that we have enough goals to keep us out of trouble though. We create plenty of chances and at some point the finishing will improve.

stop over reacting, they're not awful, people said exactly the same about Akpom and are now crying because we sold Akpom.

They are a work in progress. This might be one step back to take two steps forward, it might even be two steps back just due to the nature of the number of changes we have made, but there is clear talent in players like Latte Lath, Van Den Berg, Engel and Rogers but there are a lot on a steep learning curve right now....including the manager who has 10 months behind him and is learning about pragmatism, player experience, culture changes, etc. and how they impact results.
I think the reason I’m still rather positive is the fact I’m bought into the new model, I’d love promotion but I don’t expect it. I won’t be disgruntled if we finish 18th or we finish 6th. It’s a process at the end of the day to bear long term fruit.

I don’t doubt that and I agree but to not be concerned is crazy.

It WAS a shock to every fan that witnessed his first season with us
It was but the pedigree was always there he’s a good player trained at the highest level through his career.

He wasn’t a non league no mark that got lucky is my point.

I hear the comments about recruitment but we are in the position of not being able to offer wages never mind the transfer fees for top players and if we did we would probably go bust again.
There are plenty of clubs not in the premiership who are over reaching or have over reached(west brom for instance).
I hope these new players come good if not i will still support boro in league 1.
How exactly are West Brom in trouble?
They owe their Group £18m, we owe ours £142m.
They have positive net value of £20m and their P&L shows +£17m in Equity section of Balance Sheet. Ours is -£131m and our P&L figure shows -£247m.

They owe some money for outstanding transfers, but it is chicken feed in relation to our position.

Ok I agree with col now you are clearly Kieran Scott

No, over the summer loads of fans were loving the recruitment model and the fact we aren’t paying £7m for the likes of saville anymore. As soon as we hit a bump in the road it’s Armageddon. We are probably a few months into a 3-5 season plan.

Sorry the fact I’m not pulling my hair out after 5 games is just what it is, nothing really suspicious about it. You’ve gone off on some tangent here that’s nothing to do with my support of mfc or my work.

Going off at some tangent 🤣

1. You don’t think Boro have media people looking and even replying on here and other boards? They would be seriously remiss not to do so as an organisation. Believing otherwise is foolhardy, your deflections do fit, you personally may or may not be, it bothers me not.

2. You don’t feel Carrick needs to identify, accept where problems lie, discuss with colleagues how to go about correcting problems where they can. Identifying weaknesses in recruits, coaching and improving them where feasible?

3. Do you think all he needs to do is be positive with his spin like you on here and all will turn round eventually?

Thats what fans are doing on here, recognising problems, critical viewing and thinking is a positive trait. A negative thing to do would be pretend everything was ok, keep calm and carry on is not an option for Carrick, why should it be for fans?

You are the one going off at a tangent with all your spinning of the current reality we are witnessing, our eyes don’t lie. I hope and pray Carrick can see the wood for the trees and is trying hard to recognise and understand reality and to bring about change. You really sound like a politician, you have the ability to spin (albeit not brilliantly) and ignore the reality of the moment, vacancies are cropping up regularly in constituencies too.

I'm concerned that we don't burn the season too quickly by not improving for another two months and being in a relegation battle.

I'm not concerned about relegation yet. It's far too early for that and we know our side will improve as we start to integrate the whole 12 new players into a team.

I am concerned how we can improve our defending, we have individuals that are decent enough but we can't seem to buy a cleansheet or a strong defensive performance. Lenihan and Fry don't seem to play well as a unit, I remember back in the day people used to talk about the telepathic communication between Pallister and Mowbray, again when we had Ugo and Sir Gareth, but these two are individuals not a unit. We also lack an effective defensive organiser, a Pearson, Southgate, Mowbray type that talks to the whole defensive unit and midfield.

Midfield, not enough tracking going on, Hackney and Howson lose their man too often. Hackney if he is going to move to the next level must learn the offball game. He got beat twice yesterday easily in the LB spot putting us in danger, in fact the second goal was him wafting a leg.

O'Brien will track back and I expect to see him in the side after the international break. The big question is, will he have just Hackney or Hackney AND Howson alongside him?

So your not concerned that we are bottom of the league after losing 2 games at home with no recognised striker at this level in the club.
I think everyone is concerned, it's just that some of us don't think it's time to rip everything up and call the recruitment etc. a failure after 5 games.

My OP was aimed at pointing out the fine margins involved (as always).
