Is it just me, or was that a f*****g tough one!

Not sure why but it really took it out of me watching last night!

Fantastic result, and although Norwich didn't carve us open, it felt like a really tough game, and it was one hell of an effort from all of the players.

I think that is a big 3 points - gets us firmly back in the play off mix, and keeps this unbelievable momentum going.

Cant fault a single player last night. More about guts and grit I thought, which they all passed with flying colours.

Special shout out to Fry and McNair, another faultless performance as a pair.

Engel continues to rise out of the flames! Great support in attack last night first half.

Hackney looked sharp.

Also, doff of the cap to MC - pulling the players in for an impromptu team talk whilst Hackney(?) was injured. Silvera went up top after that and you could see the players knew how to use him, and adapted the play.

Massive 3 points - even bigger performance!

Agree both teams were guilty of careless possession, but what was good was our defence never switched off - unlike Norwich a good few times.

Some games it wont gel as much, so even more critical to churn out the very basics well, and we did that i thought.

Not just you. I thought Norwich looked the most likely to score towards the end of normal time. (I actually switched off at 89 mins, because I didn't want to have to watch Norwich's injury time equaliser)!! - Was very surprised when I checked ten minutes later and it was 2-1 Boro. Much less stressful though :ROFLMAO:

It did have that sense of inevitability on the horizon!

It certainly was a f*cking tough game.

Thought Norwich were a decent outfit, some good individual performances, but just lacking in the final third.

The 20-30 mins after we went 2 up were strange. Just lost the ability to pass the ball, pass to a white shirt or play sensible passes. Too many wayward passes, balls to players in dangerous areas who weren't looking, aimless balls hoofed forward and mental Hollywood balls.

But all the players worked their bollox off, could not fault one player with attitude or commitment. A well deserved, ground out away win. 3 points and going above the mackems.

Btw, we will batter them at the Riverside 👍

I visited the norwich message board.
Many norwich's fan say that we just don't do much.
But it was because they themselves didn't play well.
You know what, this morning I didn't dare look at the results. Because I thought that we would lose.
Maybe because I'm a little psychotic. Especially after the game with QPR.
Now I can relax until Saturday.
But we won't have Hackney, and we probably won't have Engel either.
I'm excited and tired again.

That would be my only criticism - following the first goal, we sat back way too much.

Lost our normal game a little bit and invited it on.

Against a more ruthless team we would be punished, but overall you cant blame the lads, they still managed to dig in.

I’ll admit I never look forward to Carrow road as traditionally we never seem to do well there or if we do it’s a grind.

So great to win and do it in style as well.

If you have two days rest rather than three days you see it in the performance. Particularly given how high intensity we played on Saturday.

every now and then a result comes along which makes you think this is a proper team, rather than one just hitting a bit of form. Not in the realm of sheff utd away but still a big win.

I was very concerned in the first few weeks. Felt like deja vu. I think I said if Carrick gets the boot I'm done. So depressing. I think the hardest thing in football management is to turn around a teams form as an incumbent manager. The team loses faith. They expect the manager to get the sack. This fella looks like the real deal.

For all the talk of missing archer and Ramsey those lads were only here for a few weeks. Chuba was the big miss. They've done really well to fill a massive hole in the team. Crooks and Coburn have gone a long way to filling that gap. The goals have come from other players, but coburn has provided a big presence up top and crooks has been the rug that brings the room together.

Over the last few weeks I have really felt for Coburn - most games he gets the 5hit kicked out of him, but he isnt half doing a good job for the team.

I thoroughly enjoyed last night, just as I did saturday.
Dieng is so much better than Steffen.
McNair and Fry are playing so well together.
Hackney is a class act.
The Jones/Crooks axis is a thing of beauty.
Young Josh is leading the line with courage and increasing nous. The goals will come.

I actually felt for Barlaser dropping out, because of his last couple of performances, but Howson plays so well with Hackney. I still think O'Brien will make that short his.

Greenwood really does have some class as well as graft and it is a major hats off to Engel for doing a Lazarus.

I hope Dijksteel plays right back instead of VdB. I think he links superbly with Jones and Crooks and can be worked with by Danks.

The summer permanent signings form the bench and I hope it stays that way.
I thought that from our squad missing McGree from the team would weaken us, but with Greenwood it certainly doesn't.

The bloke who deserves immense credit is Michael Carrick. This has been been a remarkable turnaround and the creation of some real momentum.

Said on the match thread yesterday, didn't have the best game but battled and ran his backside off. Was a very good contest between him and Gibson.

Defending from the front - makes a massive difference.
