What's the point of having guests on if you don't let them speak and shout at them over and over again? I'm surprised JC didn't walk out
You will not see peeople like Mark Regev being asked "do you condemn Israels murder of innocent babies and children and the shooting of unarmed civilians in the West Bank".What's the point of having guests on if you don't let them speak and shout at them over and over again? I'm surprised JC didn't walk out
...where one was trying to give a measured opinion and the other was attempting a gotcha moment, failing miserably and resorting to behaving like a spoiled child. It's obvious that he had no interest in Corbyn's opinion. Has he ever demanded that a guest admits that Israel is a terrorist state before he allows them to continue? Both were as bad as each other.
We all know what Piers is like though. Everyone. He's made a living out of being a d!ck....where one was trying to give a measured opinion and the other was attempting a gotcha moment, failing miserably and resorting to behaving like a spoiled child. Why should Corbyn, probably the only politician who's been consistent and on point since Oct 7th, be forced to repeat words in a vacuum and without context before he is allowed to air his thoughts? Perhaps he shouldn't have gone on the show but he probably saw it as an opportunity to give a thought out point of view instead of just the soundbites we have to endure elsewhere. When did we reach this stage, where a prominent MP has to either toe the line or stay at home? It's no longer current affairs, it's performance.I think Corbyn could have brought that to a halt quite easily by answering the question, he could have given a politician's answer, he could have qualified his answer, he could've related it to the ANC & Nelson Mandela being on the terrorist watch list until 2008, the talks with Sinn Féin while the IRA were operating, etc. It is only a 'gotcha' question if you keep throwing yourself back into your seat while whining 'Let me speak...'.
Because he's on the show to add his voice to the call for a ceasefire. Letting Morgan dominate the interview by asking the same Q repeatedly and not answering, means that is the clip that is being circulated not whatever point he made about a ceasefire. Why should Corbyn, probably the only politician who's been consistent and on point since Oct 7th, be forced to repeat words in a vacuum and without context before he is allowed to air his thoughts?
