Some said he was worth £30m+.Will they? I mean he’s not shown himself to be prem ready. He’s been poor at Sheff Utd

To be fair, Mbappe would look dogsh*t in that Sheff Utd team. Will they? I mean he’s not shown himself to be prem ready. He’s been poor at Sheff Utd
I thought Villa just had the option, relegated or not?Didnt know that.
Probably but it would make a promoted team think twice about him as a way of scoring enough goals to stay up.To be fair, Mbappe would look dogsh*t in that Sheff Utd team.
If (when) Sheff Utd go down, Villa have a release clause in his contract to buy him back.....which pretty much looks like a circumnavigated loan deal. Villa have held all of the cards in this "transfer". Not 100% sure but if he returns to Villa for next season, they haven't actually lost any money on him?I thought Villa just had the option, relegated or not?

I think he's loads of potential though needs to be playing for a good manager in an attacking team..Some said he was worth £30m+.
He’s a great championship striker, I’m not sure he’s ready for the Premier league just yet.I think he's loads of potential though needs to be playing for a good manager in an attacking team..
I can certainly agree with that, though I think getting regular playing time for an established team in the match day squad he'd have kicked on..He’s a great championship striker, I’m not sure he’s ready for the Premier league just yet.
Villa will have sold him for circa 15m and then will “buy him back for 15m”. That will be amortised over 5 years so gave them a 15m ffp boost this year dropping to 12 next, 9 the year after and at some point they sell him for 15m anywayIf (when) Sheff Utd go down, Villa have a release clause in his contract to buy him back.....which pretty much looks like a circumnavigated loan deal. I believe it was an absolute done deal. It was certainly reported as such at the time. Can't imagine Villa invoking the buy back clause. That was inserted incase they dropped a ******* and he smashed 20 goals this season. He'll either smash it for sheff utd in the championship next season, or go to a newly promoted team. I could see him at somewhere like Ipswich if they go up.
I didn't read it as that, so fair play if it is.I believe it was an absolute done deal. It was certainly reported as such at the time.
He probably is, but his time at Sheff Utd shows he isn't a guarentee of goals at this level. It'll reduce his value and/or create a bigger perception of risk. He's definitely Premier League quality. Sometimes moves just don't work out for players. A finisher as good as Archer could score goals at any level. His movement is brilliant and he has a good burst of pace. I would love him back here but wages would no doubt be a bit of a stumbling block now.
