Derby to pay Richard Keogh £2m

Not good news in their current financial pickle.
Looking at the news this morning it seems that the "takeover" isnt going to well either..
I work with a Derby fan... and i'm usually not one to gloat ... but.... i'm sat with my feet up and crunching popcorn observing this one...

Class👍

To be honest I didn't blame him. They all should have been sacked all of them or none. I think he was 'discriminated' against.

He was clearly given the boot because he was a high earner and 'older' (and injured). Lawrence was playing a week later and very much part of the lash up and crash.

They used the excuse he was captain and should set the example. Yet no fecker forced them to keep drinking and get in a car.

It's probably the last thing Derby need😂

Derby County making plans amid fears takeover is about to collapse

Derby County chiefs are reportedly losing patience with the club's prospective new owners amid fears a £60m takeover is on the verge of falling apart.

The Daily Mail claims the Rams' hierarchy are now drawing up contingency plans in case the sale of the club to Deverntio Holdings collapses.

The takeover had looked on course to be going ahead back in November when the EFL gave it the green light, but there has still been no breakthrough.

Worried fans have been eagerly awaiting developments given the current cash flow problems at the Championship club which saw them unable to pay some players their full salaries last month.

The club is now under a transfer embargo as a result and now faces a race against time to get the deal done in order to be able to make new signings ahead of the transfer window closing in 12 days' time.

CEO Stephen Pearce said last week that he was confident the deal was on course to be completed, but the Mail claims Derby's hierarchy are losing patience with the prospective new owners.

It was claimed earlier tonight by Sky Sports reporter David Craig, who was in attendance for the 1-0 win over Bournemouth, that the club is now looking at other investors.

He said: "I do understand the club is actively looking for other investors at this moment in time.

“Whether they be short-term investors or long-term investors with the aim of taking over the football club, that’s not quite clear at this moment in time.

“There is some belief here that Sheikh Khaled could still complete the deal but we have to remember that was also the case at Newcastle United in 2019.

“The same investment group tried to buy them and it did not come to any fruition.

“They do need money, They do need to pay the outstanding wage bill and until they can do that they can’t bring any players in on loan or sign any players.

The Mail claims that confidence that the deal will go ahead is starting to wane and there are claims the club could look for another loan from MSD Holdings which is a group linked to US billionaire Michael Dell.

It has also been suggested that Derby could be set to sell their young stars in order to solve their short-term cash problems with young teenage midfielder Kaide Gordon subject of interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.

The news comes as Derby secured a much-needed and morale-boosting win over Derby County at Pride Park where Krystian Bielik's goal ensured boss Wayne Rooney picked up his first win since being appointed manager on a permanent basis.

Reports that Keogh had won his case against us aren’t true according to Percy.

A decision to be made by end of the month.

Carry on believing some rubbish reports.
