He should just count himself lucky that he's in the right era to basically play a few games in the PL then set up for lifeA mate of mine supports Melbourne Victory (and Boro). Apparently Gestede made his first start today and then went off injured after 10.minutes. Of course he did!
I think he's one of a number of footballers who just don't give a stuff about their present club or the fans, there only be all end all is his salaryI remember early on in a season a few year ago he was injured not sure who we were playing that day but we were at home and my son seen him at KFC stuffing his face and I kind of wondered why he was not at the game or supporting the team. It then struck me he didn't give a toss about football or Boro at all.
If you put the price tag in, which I know he didn't set, then £ for £ the absolute worstUp there with one of our worst ever.
He at least got on the pitch
I know we can all talk about cr*p signings and flops but I still say Rudy is hands down the worst pound for pound signing. In terms of fee/wages/performances and then to cap it all he leaves for nothing.
I would say well in excess of 10mil with wages.
Mido was another one but Gestede edges it because he was earning crazy money at a time when we were not in a good place as a club financially.
If that fella in the South Stand was saying he was 'the pits' then he got it bang on. Although I'm not convinced he was.Gestede really annoys me, because when we signed him I couldn't fathom it out because of his poor form for Villa, his terrible record in the Premier League and his history with the Boro fan.
DefinetlyI'm assuming that Gestede is one of the players alluded to by Warnock in the recent press conference. He said that he'd have told Gibson not to have touched a few of the Boro's signings with a barge pole.
