Sean Dyche

Because football works differently to your job in Edinburgh. Like posters have said, players have a small trust circle and family help with career decisions on football. It’s standard practice

I give up honestly.

You think it's acceptable for a 23 year old to take his mam to work, I think it may just suggest that Dyche had a point about Bamford's attitude and suitability to fit into his squad.

We're not going to agree, and so I'm just off to ask my mam whether she's finished the report I've got to have to the MD by 5pm.

Nope we don’t agree at all. Not in the slightest.

It's fine to me, especially seeing as his dad is his agent. His mam probably went with them as she was interested, and had b***r all else to do.

Would be a bit different if he was 32 and just turned up holding a Thomas the tank engine lunch box, with his mam, who wasn't his agent though.

Don't see a problem personally with taking his folks.

Dyche has always been a grumpy get though. The silver spoon thing seems like his problem rather than Bamfords. Sure, Paddy has been around a few clubs, but he's always been adamant about what he thinks his best position is. He's at Leeds and Bielsa believes in him, and look at him flying now in that position.

I'm pleased as punch for him. He was great for us when he won player of the year and I'm glad he's finally kicked on and got where he wants to be.

Go on, how is it.

A 23 year old taking his mam to his new job.
Expect that for a footballer to get as far as he did, his parents would have had to sacrifice an awful to to help him, so why is it wrong that he took them with him? Clearly they are a huge part of his career

Dyche has always been a ****** so that’s no surprise. Imagine the reaction of a player was mocked for coming from a poorer background, this is no different

Do other people's parents not sacrifice things for them ? My parents both worked their arses off so I could go to university and leave without a mountain of debt, I didn't take them along to my first day at work to thank them for it.

I'm not even attempting to justify whether it's strange that he took them anymore (I think it's strange a 23 year old taking his parents to work, others don't).

I'm pointing out why Dyche could possibly have being coming from with his comments - perhaps Dyche agrees with me, and think's it strange?

Like a lot of managers I'm sure Dyche is great to work for if you're a certain type. Horses for courses isn't it?

It sounds like he's not a fan of players speaking their mind or asking questions. If he says jump, the answer needs to be "how high" not "why?" I suspect.

Can't argue with his results like. But he still seems like a nob to me.

And its certainly not uncommon for players to be accompanied by family members when signing for a new club, bit weird a premier League manager would have an issue with it. Certainly don't see, how it makes said player "privileged" or whatever.

Mind Lizards has a point. All occupations are exactly the same and so should be treated as such. Bet Lizard's boss hates it when he turns up for his end of year performance review and he brings his agent with him to discuss his pay rise 😉

I didn't take them along to my first day at work.
Well done you. Very brave and grown-up.

It might be unusual but so what? It doesn't make him a bad footballer indeed it would appear that Dyche is just an inverted snob. If he had said you turned up here with your rrse hanging out of a pair of patched trackie bottoms and your hair shaved to your scalp would that be OK?

I think anyone doing a job has a right to be judged on how they do the job not on how they dress, talk or pick their nose.

My Dad you mean, whilst my Mam is carrying my laptop bag.

It was the day he signed wasn't it? Probably signed on, did a press conference then went for a family meal. I suppose he could have left her in the carpark.

Jesus - I don't think Dyche has ever claimed he's a bad footballer - just that he's not suitable and of the right mindset for his football club - perhaps his parents coming to work with him reinforced that.

True, when asked why he wasn't getting a game he was told because his mam and dad came with him when he signed. So true "not a bad footballer". I don't think "born with a silver spoon in your mouth" is valid reason not to play someone though. Plainly you do.

I think this says more about the ginger tawt than it does about Bamford
