Sean Dyche

I liked Bamford when he was at Boro but I saw that there was a different side to him when he got that Villa player sent off. There's always two sides to a story.
Totally agree

Bamford is no saint that is why I’ve taken the original comments by him with a pinch of salt.

Would love to hear Dyche’s version of what happened.

But whatever Dyche would say, this board wouldn’t listen to his side because he’s the villain and one of the most disliked in football by ‘Boro fans.

Yep excellent players for us but sadly happy to get a fellow pro sent off, continuous to cheat & dive to gain the advantage, but if that's his aim

I don't think all these unsavoury remarks would have been so many if some of our fans didn't carry a chip on their shoulders from days when we challenged em once

Im pretty sure Dyche has more to him than just coping with a bunch of yes men. He has two players in his squad who come from a similar background to Banford, he got the most out of Joey Barton.

Sounds like Bamford’s attitude got up Dyche’s nose and like other managers around the time moved him on pretty quickly Allardyce at Palace and Alex Neil at Norwich.

Well done to Bielsa for managing him correctly and getting the most out of him. But it doesn't reflect badly on Dyche in my opinion that he failed to make an impression there.

No idea what Bamford getting players sent off has to do with Sean Dyche been an entitled pr*ck mind which is the point of the thread.

This wasn't his pro forms, this was him signing on loan for his 8th club.
For goodness sake, elite football is different to nearly any other job.

Most managers make a big deal about getting to know about a player's personality and background before signing them.

They welcome family involvement in discussions if they are an important part of the player's support structure. That helps make the player feel wanted and comfortable. Other players might involve their partners, others close friends.

Clearly Dyche is a hardcase who doesn't agree and sees it as a weakness.

Can't really say it's old school either. Wasn't Clough a fan of meeting spouses etc as it helped him gauge player stability.

If it was such a problem for Dyche when Bamford’s parents arrived with him for contract talks, he could have pulled out of the deal there and then. I suspect that and the whole silver spoon thing was just his way of fobbing him off when he had decided he didn’t want him in the team.

I think Dyche always comes across like he’s got a huge inferiority complex, wouldn’t surprise me if Bamford was also made an outcast due to his Boro connection, see also Gibson. We live in his head rent free because of the FA cup semi in 1997. Makes you wonder why he signed them, unless it’s not him making the decisions.

This ^^

It's a massive investment/ risk for the player too, the late teens and early 20's are pretty much make or break for a footballer, who only typically has a pro career of about 10-15 years, assuming they don't get wrecked by injury.

A bad decision could be the difference between earning £1k a week to £100k a week for the remainder of their football career.

It's not the same as some bloke turning up at Macdonalds, there is far more at stake, it's a decision which would typically dominate 25% of his career and will have an impact on 90% of his lifetime earnings.

Paddy does seem a bit soft and might have a bit too much to say (who knows), but Dyche also seems a bit of an old skool hard case, both of them should have realised that move was never going to work, for either of them.

It seems as if you play for Boro, and Burnley come knocking, expect to be in the reserves, then given the silent treatment and then go out on loan.

Dael Fry should heed that history :)

Jelle Vossen saw through the anti Boro tw@t Dyche in 3 weeks and fxcked off sharpish. Baffles me how Gibson let Ben go there.

How is dyche an entitled pr*ck?
Exactly, it amazes me how people can hate & to say they're p*****s, a#@#@*?"s, etc to someone they've never met based on something he said about the Boro, or had some of our players there

A lot of petulance going on here, wonder how Cloughy never got such treatment when he ridicules Dave Currie infront of the rest of the dressing room, Justin Fashany. & the striker from Coventry, whose name escapes me

He's played at a veru good level & as well as been a top, top PL manager
Mind you some posters were saying the same about NW before he came here

Not sure why people get so upset that some boro fans aren’t particularly fond of Dyche.

Brian Clough was undeniably an ****, there's no getting away from that.
There were plenty of people who didn't like him because of that.
He was still a very good manager who won everything.

Sean Dyche is an average manager at an average club, and not even in his league.
But as far as I know, he's never actually said anything particularly disparaging about Middlesbrough whilst he's been a manager.
He moaned that we spent a lot in the promotion season, which was a bit ironic given how much Burnley spent, but that's it.
It was Joey Barton that was slating the club publicly.

Doesn’t seem plausible to me. Surely he wouldn’t sign a player not knowing the background of said player
Well he signed Gibson for 15 million and he clearly didn’t like him either. Signed scum of the earth Barton and loved him. Make of that what you will
