Warnock very critical of the club

Yes I agree with that. But Warnock's criticism was about transfers so he could only have been referring to Bauser and the others in the recruitment/scouting departmant.
I guess if the Head of Football isn’t giving you support then you’re not going to last long.

As I've just posted I think he's talking about the pre Kieran Scott clique and Bauser obviously. I've posted the Gazette article on the previous page.

Did he say that he wasn't getting support from Kieran Scott for transfers?
Remembering that Kieran Scott didn't start work until 1st September and the next transfer window isn't open until 1st January.

I think it was obvious over summer we had two very distinct recruitment strategies. The players Warnock wanted (the cheap ones - none of the others got done) and the longer term recruitment department ones (Sporar, Payero, JLS). Sounds like Warnock was pretty sure that any signings he wanted in Jan wouldn’t happen and he would be given players he wasn’t sure about.

I wouldn’t put it past Boro to tell Warnock that Wilder would need to agree the Jan signings! It’s been known he would be the new manager for 3 weeks, probably due to arrive in summer, and we’ve brought it forward. Probably because Wilder was being offered other jobs and pushed us to make the move earlier.

No he said that the only one giving him support was Gibson.

Bit rich moaning about the recruitment team being too slow off the mark when we could've had Muniz last January but he decided he wanted to wait till the summer (for reasons unknown).

But of course to acknowledge that would require some self awareness and a touch of humility.
It's all conjecture. Warnock could also have been told to wait til the summer and he was covering for them. Quotes like "People behind the scenes will probably be glad I’m not [staying] - though I don’t mean Steve." show he had ruffled a few feathers.

Well possibly.

But Warnock doesn't strike me as the type to cover for anyone and to be fair, why should he?

Think it's disgusting of the club to sack him hours before a match. Perhaps the ever-respectful and patient Mr Gibson is not quite as good with people management as he has previously been heralded?

Monk was sacked straight after a win at Sheff Wed i seem to remember (although the circumstances were different)

Southgate was sacked after a home win over Derby with falling attendances given as one of the reasons
