Warnock was holding us back

How many games did they miss? are you trying to say that had no effect on our results?

Bola missed 9 games, we won 4 of them.
Dijksteel missed 8 games, we won 4 of them.
Fry missed 6 games, we won 4 of them.

We actually had better results under Warnock this season when they were all injured.
Warnock was just doing a poor job by the end, trying to blame it on injuries is deflection and it doesn't even hold up to scrutiny.

I was beginning to become frustrated with his post-match interviews towards the end. Coming out after a poor performance with quotes such as, "I couldn't have asked any more from the lads today". To me, it felt as if he was playing down his own players; suggesting that they're not quite good enough but did at least put in the effort, whereas in reality many of us just felt that Warnock wasn't getting the best out of them.

Wilders' interviews are so refreshing. He'll come out and give an honest assessment of the game, and he set his stall out early doors after the Millwall game, when he mentioned that one player hadn't stuck to the gameplan 2nd half. To his credit though, he didn't publically shame the player, unlike a previous manager who seemed more than happy to throw players under the bus.

It’s as plain as the nose on your face that Warnock was a really poor manager and taking us backwards. With the same players we are now a proper team playing proper football and getting proper results. It won’t last (we don’t have the squad for it to last this season) but the blueprint is there. I’m calling it now: under Wilder we will be promoted in the next few seasons.

It was worse than just holding us back, Warnock was taking us backwards to the point where a short time ago a season of survival looked likely. He kept us up, but I've said before but I'll say it again, it went down to the last game and along the way, there were traits of what was to come, for example; losing to Hull after going infront. I appreciate what he did because that situation required a no nonsense, take no $hit approach, what he did with Gestede for example. From January onwards the guy was becoming a liability.

No but bizarrely not picking Isiah Jones night have
which manager gave him his debut?
Or playing crooks up front.
what strikers did we have available?
Or tav at wing back.
Bola not available? Taylor wasn’t here
Or Howson in defence.
Howson was great in defence and much needed
first thing Wilder said when he came in… square pegs in square holes please
bet it wasn’t

which manager gave him his debut?
then dropped him so that he could play a left footed central midfielder at LWB 🤦‍♂️

what strikers did we have available?
Coburn

Bola not available? Taylor wasn’t here
He turned Taylor down

Howson was great in defence and much needed
He really wasn't, people claiming Howson was great in defence are relying on one game 2 years ago for that, he's far better as a holding midfielder and far too slow to play in the backline

bet it wasn’t
But he did say it, and he was right

Face it Warnock was an awful manager, long ball, tactically inept, thinks that shouting at players to run around a lot constitutes motivation and screaming at referees and telling people to get pump it long constitutes tactics...the guys a fraud. He had his day 15 years ago and has had one great but lucky season since.

He was doing well up until January, then completely lost his way.

I still can't understand why he brought in three wingers. Fans were buzzing at the time but my main thought was how is he going to fit them all into the same side. He spent the remainder of the season trying to figure that out himself, and ultimately failing to come up with a solution.
