* The unofficial "Official" Boro v Mansfield Town FA Cup 3rd Round Matchday Thread and Programme *

Looking at those highlights it looks like their offside goal should have stood.

I enjoyed it despite all the mistakes - plenty going on at both ends.

Is it? He got rounded. He was woeful but I think Wood is more to blame for that goal.
Have to say I've only watched the highlights above and I made the mistake of looking at their disallowed goal, where Lumley's attempt to save the shot was embarrassing.
Have to agree Lumley not really to blame for either actual goal.

Ah fair play

Lumley’s performance was a concern no matter which way you look at it for me.
Just about every Lumley performance is a concern in truth. The games where they haven’t been are largely due to having little to do. He looks all over the place on crosses, his handling is woeful, regularly drops the ball in crowded goalmouths. Defenders need surety from a goalkeeper, Lumley offers chaos more often than not, we definitely need a new keeper.

I really enjoyed that game.
The FA cup is magical.
Mansfield should hold their heads up high after that performance.
It was never going to be a walkover.
And I don't buy into the "we've been weakened by COVID" excuse.
A full strength Boro could have still lost that.
It's the attitude from everyone on the pitch on both sides that I appreciated.
When Newport and Burton deservedly beat us more than a few of our players didn't seem bothered by it to me.
But today we lost a two goal lead and still kept going.
Both teams wanted to win and I'm pleased it was us.
Best of luck to Mansfield and I hope they get something to cheer about in 2022.
