Good day out today. We set off early so we could do the Mansfield parkrun beforehand. Young boro (Billingham Marsh house) lad came 1st with 17:51. Good omen for the day. In the wetherspoons for 10. Brekky and a couple of pints, in the ground for 12 and back home for 5. As good as it gets when u are in your 50's.

And I don't buy into the "we've been weakened by COVID" excuse.
A full strength Boro could have still lost that.

The second statement is true, Mansfield are a decent team in good form.... but the first is a fact, we still have about 6 players out with covid and some of the players will have been ill this week. 5 players, HALF of our starting outfield players had 17 league starts between them....that is very inexperienced.

striker is leaning forward, I think his right shoulder is likely off, and luckily for us the linesman will have been that side of the pitch and seen that big flash of yellow on the strikers back. It's tight but I think it's likely just off because of the strikers body position

Remarkable performance given the week we've had.
Give the lads credit. Had to dig in second half and got the rub of the green a couple of times, but all that matters is that your in the bag for the next round. Well done

I enjoyed the game but we were all over the place in the second half.

Mansfield also lost players to Covid but still managed to up their game , we won but it was poor.
