* The unofficial "Official" Boro v Mansfield Town FA Cup 3rd Round Matchday Thread and Programme *

Feels like lots in here have never seen an FA Cup tie against lower league opposition before.

A “classic” FA cup match really played in dreadful conditions. Could have been 5 or 6 each.

Like people have said we don’t know how many of the lads who played were affected by covid and lack of training.

We are in the next round and no extra time. I’m happy with that.
Well said, The cup is all about progressing and surviving. We did that is all that is important. Talk to Burnley fans at the moment

I am very happy with that

Totally agree, logic goes out of the window on these games, you just settle for getting through

Having watched the highlights again, Bamba was culpable for both their goals. Poor awareness of their striker for the first, caught with his body square for the second which left Wood 1 vs 1 and the lad had the run on him. Again though, I'm not going to be too tough on him as we don't know his covid situation or training situation this week

Great game for the neutral, had everything apart from a 22 man brawl and a dog on the pitch.

Lucky to get through after a really committed display by Mansfield, they were hungrier than us which given the conditions acted as a leveller.

Didm't think they were any hungrier in my opinion. We battled throughout but were put on the backfoot as Mansfield threw the contents of the kitchen cupboard as well as the sink at us.

Wilder has instilled in us very quickly a tougher mentality and it was our hunger that we went on and won the game. Sure we had some luck in the second half but all successful cup teams need that rub of the green - but welcome to Round 4. That's all that matters. Nice.

The second goal is all about a goalkeeper who simply can't make basic saves. Utterly dreadful.
Still we are in the hat for the next round and have another week to regroup before the league next weekend.
