Derby Board

Initially my first thought was that Crooks' was a red to be honest, he did seem to lead with his studs. I winced as soon as Riley blew his whistle.

At the same time though, it looked to me as though Lawrence was headbutting Tav and seemed to do it several times, so on another day that could have been a red.

Well just had a look on there out of boredom. I know we're biased on here but some of the stuff on there. Pitiful delusion.

Yes, Crooks might have gone but the ref had been very lenient with Tom Lawrence pushing his forehead into Tav's face and booked the pair of them oddly when Tav had done nothing. But blaming the referee for allowing us to bully them? I don't know if they got a stream to a different game because we could have had quite a few more and the hit from Bird for their goal went through such a crowd it was just as lucky as Connolly's in a different way. Jones tortured their left back and their keeper kept it "respectable".

Would like to see that Crooks challenge again before I make up my mind.
It looked a great challenge from the south. Probably says a lot that neither manager mentioned it after the game or nowhere is showing highlights of it either, first I heard of it being a potential red was from their forum

Wasn’t a red. Fine it was a yellow. Quite funny the commentators not saying it was a red at the time then saying “it’s the man who’s shouldn’t be on the pitch” when he scored!

It looks like 2 players going for a 50/50 and one coming off worse, but no malice or anything in it. Can agree with a yellow and think a red is possible but harsh. VAR doesn't give that as a red
Agree totally with this. Could be a red and no complaints really. I don't think VAR would over turn it either way

If we
Didn't look a great challenge in real time. At the time was a bit worried but think it would have been a harsh red. Ref was very close. In his defense he got a tiny bit of the ball and started to pull out last minute. It was a very poor challenge.
had actually caught him with hte leading leg then would have had no complaints, but it was an attempt at the ball, it wasn't direct studs up at the player, and it wasn't with excessive force. It was clumbsy, a little late, and missed. I think he caught him with his trailing leg if anything. But the Derby man stayed down and feigned a major connection

I'd of winced if Riley was blowing his whistle, Mike Dean was the referee. ;) (y)

He grabbed at Tav and yanked him just before the box. That was a yellow for a deliberate foul. Then Lawrence violently shoved Tav twice who did well not to react, then Lawrence put his head into Tavs. It wasn't a full headbutt, but, it was an act of violence and in the letter of the law a red. Remember Aliadieres red all those years ago, that's all it takes for it to be a red.
