We are moving close to our first striker signing

I haven't seen Dwight Gayle play for a while. I think he scored against us in 2019 for WBA.

The first half of June is usually quiet with people in Football on holiday.

Would have rather signed him 4 years ago but still should do a job at this level. Just hope he isnt the main target, keeping him fit all season is impossible with how little he has played recently

Let’s at least give him a few games before deciding whether he’s lost it and doesn’t give a ****!

He’s proven he can do it at this level albeit a few years ago. I’m happy with this. UTB.

He's not been injured much since his MCL in 2020, so he would have been training every week and be fit, but it's the intensity of matches which he's probably missed, and especially that which comes with 46 games in the Champo.

He looks a "fit" lad though, so hopefully he'll be alright, but even if not he's a good addition for a rotation of 3-4 strikers.

We do need a no 1 though, and I'm guessing that's going to come once we get the Spence money, which I hope we get finalised in the next week or two.

From talk sport:
16 HOURS AGO7th June 2022
Dwight Gayle could be the next man out of St James' Park after Isaac Hayden, according to our man Alex Crook.

The Newcastle United striker is being watched by Middlesbrough ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

The forward barely featured for the Toon last year and a move away makes sense for all parties.

Good signing, you have to score your way out of this league....last seasons goal scoring was woeful other than from Watmore and Crooks....
Thanks 👍
