What a waste of space the 3 of them are. Poor, poor players. All supposedly good on the ball, all play backwards or play a little dinky 70/30 ball for a defender to win.

None of them capable or quick enough to win the ball.

McNair is never a left back and he sort of give that indication tonight. So far we've had Fry, McNair and Djksteel playing at left back and they've all been poor to average although I'm not too sure it's all their fault as the first conceded goal was Crook's fault who was crowded and then we didn't bother to stick the foot-in. What I'm saying here is that it's a team effort and we're not a team, there's no chemistry or desire right now I feel to change the mood of these players.

Don't agree with mgree. He plays some wonderful slide through balls, great vision. But I don't think he should be in place of a striker. We need bodies in the box. Would play him in the three with howson and Crooks.
We've played him in the 3 and it didn't work he was absolutely powder puff. He's not good enough to play as a 10 and he's too soft to play as a central midfielder. I Would say as well, crooks was as bad as anyone tonight absolutely awful

Which through balls did he play tonight? The striker was feeding on scraps. If I'm wrong fair play. I haven't seen him create anything

Yer but I think I'd take a powder puff for literally any form of forward thinking in the midfield . Even if the two were more sitting and he had the license to roam but we still had two forwards.

Howson crooks mowatt is incredibly side to side. At least McGree looks forward and passes and looks to move forward.

Will be weaker physically in there but unfortunately we don't have any midfielders who are decent going forward as well as having a bit of bite and energy. Sold the only one we did have.

Where do the 3 of them play and what are they good at is a more reasonable question because I don't know.

For a team looking for promotion or play offs these types of player are the problem. Non entitles

McNair was right back. Swapped for dijksteel at right back. Dijksteel is the best right back we have and can do it in a 3,4 or 5.
Harsh on McGree. He plays some great football. Had a poor night.
I had to look for mowatt on 30 minutes. Couldn’t find him

Played a few class balls through to Giles and he played a ball through the midfield to Bola which opened the pitch up for Bola to put Muniz in on goal. None of our midfielders see that pass for the most part, we always try to go around the midfield rather than through it, it takes vision and nuts to do it though.

Not much tonight I agree. A few to put Giles in good crossing positions but not much.

But you've also got to look at how much harder it is to play in a forward pass to a lone striker.

When that happens the space(if there is any) tends to be in the wider areas so it's more likely he will find forward passes for wide players

Two up front creates much more movement and potential space in the channels in central areas.

It's a massive issue for me and important we go back to two up top

I agree with 2 up front but I don't think he's good enough in midfield as a 3 sadly. If he could finish he could play as a 10 but he lacks finishing and the ability to go past players for me. Another steady eddy mf with not alot of quality

I think we would need to change formation to get the best out of McGree since clearly he doesn’t fit into a 3 5 2.. I’d give 4 4 2 a go but doubt Wilder would do it.

Clarke was also poor tonight. He looks very keen to get forward but he needs to do the basics of defending first.

His debut was excellent, we need him to get back to that level ASAP.

Very interesting to hear how the manager explains that first half performance.

Playing one man up front in that system doesn’t look very formidable to me.

Or 3-4-1-2
Midfield of Giles-howson-crooks-Jones
McGree in between them and a front 2

Someone on another thread mentioned going for the Karanka 4-2-3-1 formation - with the players we have it could work.

Not a chance Wilder will abandoned his 3-5-2 / 3-5-1-1 formation.......and we are becoming oh so predictable and easy to play against.
