Kieron Scott

Wilder would have commented by now if he hadn't signed an NDA. He will stay quiet until his next job. Then we will get some balance.

More importantly, I was really impressed with Michael Carrick. I get the feeling we have got a jewel.
He has a tough gig given the position and squad, but I now have hope restored, at least for next season.
I will also shut up about Woodgate. It would appear Carrick is genuine in saying he's happy to have him as a coach and on his team. If he is happy then that is good enough for me.

In fairness too, I thought Bausor came across better than I've ever heard him before.

Great stuff

I think Carrick was genuine about Woody but I can't help but think the club have suggested him and Carrick has had to have a think/be convinced.

Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but when questioned about Woody he said he knew him but they "weren't super close". He then mentioned about talking to Woody more over the last week or so and them "clicking" and also them having similar thoughts on football.

At the end of the day it's immaterial as long as Carrick is happy to have him as part of his team. I think he'll be all the more useful due to his previous experiences over the last few years. All humans usually learn by making mistakes.

I'm still hoping for a wise older head as Assistant Manager (or should that be 'Assistant to the Head Coach') to complete the package though, but I'm looking forward to the ride.

Loyalty in football is so rare, Wilder could take a leaf puy of Beale's book from QPR! When you're in red hot form you don't tempt your sides implosion by flirting with other jobs! Especially when you've been given 2 Premier League strikers, An Australian International for £3 million and then in the summer you're given Man City's number 2, The best LWB in the league, a rivals captain, a player who seems to be POTY everywhere he goes and several other decent players.

He was backed simple.

I hope we kept alot of the money and we give the bloody lot to Carrick to go get who he wants along with Scott and our new scout!
That’s is right right there!

Looking for an opportunity- he could be looking/talking/applying/being moody.

It could apply to anything. It doesn’t mean he actually made contact with any club
Imo it's a great way to shift focus away from performance in your own role - most on here seem to think Scott a waste of space of late but with one quote suddenly he is vindicated and it was all wilders fault.

I'll wait to hear the other side of the coin.

Yes his demeanour was interesting all they way throughout. Did he crack a smile?

Odd one isn't it.

I guess none of us really know why he was interested in those jobs in the first place - particularly Sunderland (who are arguably a step backward for him).

In his defence, I find it incredibly difficult to believe that his plan all along was to join Boro and leave after four months to pursue an opportunity elsewhere. His house only went on the market back end of last year I think (presumably to move to the North East?)

I still think it's more likely that a fairly hasty agreement was reached when he was appointed which both sides reneged on to some respect. He clearly had issues with the recruitment structure but I guess none of us will know what was agreed up front - did either side overstep their previous agreed boundaries? Did those boundaries change over time?

He's hardly a shrinking violet so I'd expect his side of events to follow soon, unless he's under NDA as part of his severance, in which case this could be seen as a cheap shot?
He didn’t think his stock would be so high early on. Wins against Spurs & Man Utd.. Sean Dyche was on something daft like £12m a year wasn’t he?

Every presser he was selling himself how ambitious he was, how much he wanted to manage in the premier league.. we were stupid enough to think it was taking about with us!!

when you consider just how poor the players were performing under him this really starts to make sense now. i was one of those giving him the benefit of the doubt as reports of him looking at other clubs were purely rumours.
The thing that persuaded me around the Burnley rumour (apart from his car crash interviews on the subject) was the fact that our performances were so contrasting before and after - what was the home game we drew 0-0 (IIRC), it wasn't just the performance that was telling, but equally that players body language told a story and the fact they were arguing amongst each other.

Sounds like the case is closed

Yes, not having it me.
