Sunderland Away Ticket Info

If priority is about how much money you put into the club, then should West Upper fans get priority over North? Should buying a replica shirt earn priority points? Or buying a pint in the concourse? Or burning money with Unibet?

It's not about money that goes into Boro's pockets. The priority points are awarded as a way of showing appreciation for support on the road, not how much money is spent with Boro.

Not everybody can afford to fork out for tickets and travel for more away games.

The system is elitist, I'm surprised at some of those in favour of a system discriminating against most season ticket holders.

That's just life, unfortunately. Nothing to do with being elitist. Supporting a football club is expensive and a hobby.

Some people can't afford a season ticket.. why should those that can get a cheaper match per match rate than those that can't afford one.

It's a business.

Well that’s unfortunate but it’s the fairest way to skin the cat. They system isn’t elitism it’s a pragmatic way to deal a fair hand to boro fans.

Do something about it...go to more away games.

Wait a minute. Are you seriously suggesting a season ticket holder who's been to 0 away games should have the same chance of a high demand away ticket, than a season ticket holder who has been to 20+ away games over the last 2 years?

Answer on a postage stamp will do.
What part of this question @Humpty isn't part of the discussion?

Plus, the avoidance of you answering the very simple yes or no question basically gives the answer anyways.

Good for you if you think that. It's more a means of spreading the load on the ticket office when away tickets go on sale. And for stopping people moaning about how they are distributed. Oh.

You don’t get to dictate the conversation away from the point of discussion, which was based on the statement that a season ticket is now devalued under the current priority system. It’s quite simple.

I’m not sure how anyone can deny Humpty’s point that for most people a season ticket is now devalued.

A season ticket always got you a shot at getting a ticket to any away game.

If someone was to buy a half season ticket today, how many away games would they even have a chance at?

Cardiff - Yes
West Brom - No
Swansea - Yes
Huddersfield - No
Bristol City - No
Luton - No
Rotherham - No

It’s only the Welsh ones they’d have a sniff at, due to them being our furthest away games.

Which is fine if you’re happy just to go to home games, but if you’ve been bitten by the bug or recently come into more money or your job has changed so you can now go to away games, or your kid is now at an age you can take them, actually you can’t.

If we got in the Premier League next season you’d have zero chance of being in the away end at a Boro game because you’d be at least 70 points behind those who’ll snap up all the tickets.

This was all done to please a minority, who have a sense of entitlement.

Is the ST devalued?

All home games? Yes
Own seat? Yes
Massive discount to walk ups? Yes
Priority points? Yes

The ST and away games aren’t exclusive to each other. Want a big game ticket then start going to away matches it’s that simple.

Nailed.

I didn't.

I asked a simple question which revolves around the topic of season ticket holders and priority points.

Instead of answering the very very simple question with a yes or no, you've instead, proceeded to waffle on and dodge the question, purely because you don't like the question I raised and because you don't like your own answer.

Your lack of answer is there to see.

I'm a gold card holder but only get to 7 or 8 away games due to work commitments so only have 205 priority points.
I have no problem whatsoever with supporters who go to every game getting priority, loyalty has to be rewarded in my opinion.
Gutted if I don't get a ticket but understand the reasons why.
I’m on 214 and may miss out but I understand why I would.

It’s a chance for them to start building their points, it’s the best system.

You're right. When trying to get your hands on a ticket for a high demand away game, having a season ticket alone.. with little to no priority points holds less value than a season ticket with lots and lots of priority points.

I'd agree the above is true, and completely believe that's the way it should be also.

Absolutely they should have the same chance.
