    Redcar Athletic vs Blyth Town

Best day of my football supporting life. Memories to last a lifetime today. The Northern League has been wonderful, but bring on the next level. What a day.

    Redcar Athletic vs Blyth Town

Beyond thrilled. It's an absolute dream come true And attendances like that bodes so well for the future. 300 on average is needed to survive, even at NPE level I would say I cried my eyes out yesterday, and I haven't honestly stopped yet.

    Redcar Athletic FC - April 12th - 3pm

It was a belting day out. Noisy, boisterous and ultimately it was a fantastic result. Funnily enough, I said the same to a mate in the bar after the game - I haven't enjoyed an away day as much as that for a long time.

    Redcar Athletic FC - April 12th - 3pm

On Saturday at 3pm, Redcar Athletic can win the title and promotion from the Northern League by beating Blyth in their final home game of the season. Its been an absolutely unbelievable season, and I have loved every minute of it. Anyone not going to Millwall wanting a fix of an actual Teesside...

    Unusual crushes

Another vote for Lisa Tarbuck - but with the added knowledge that I might have snogged her, outside Keith's Wine Bar, on Lark Lane in Liverpool around 13-15 years ago, on New Years Eve. Around 20 of us shared a table, and she was unremittingly lovely all night. One of the genuinely nicest and...

    Laura Marling

Wednesday night for me. She is the best solo performer i have ever seen - absolutely sublime. Honestly toying with a trip to NY the following week. I have also heard she might be retiring as well - one of a kind.

Great North Run - and a little request

Cheers Rob, That's really kind. I have followed all your Park Runs as well, and that has helped. In the nicest possible way, I felt "well, if Rob can do it, so can I" And in 18 days, I will find out!! Cheers for the donation

Great North Run - and a little request

Hi all - not posted here for a good while - Boro have kind of floated off my radar in the last few years really - despite being back in the North East again. I am now on the board at Redcar Athletic FC - in the Northern League, Division 1. Anyway, I digress - I am running the Great North Run...

This album cover and title from my favourite Ukrainian band (released in 2006) is so apt

I interviewed Peter Solowka as part of the Something Left Behind film - he and David are still very much in touch. The Ukrainians first LP and CD are back on sale now at scopitones.co.uk - all proceeds going to charity based in Ukraine.

    Generous Gestures by Away Fans

I was at the same game - as a Widnes fan - we had just moved to the area from the NE. Went to the replay a few days later, at Elland Road - Widnes lost, obviously!
