Amad Diallo

Last summer clearly hurt with losing 4 quality loanees and chuba. No matter what happens this window, we will not be in that position at the end of this season.

We currently don't have that number of players on loan and we have reportedly agreed a fee for Greenwood (if both parties agree to a transfer), Ayling would be out of contract, so available on a free.

I would be happy bringing in any player on loan that would improve the team, would prefer an out and out goalscorer, but if bring in a player like Diallo (better than what we have) would allow us to use Forss as a Striker, I'd also be happy with that

These highlights show that he is very much left footed. Tony played him off the right but he could play left or, with his pace, could play the Archer role. One of the goals was against us (and Hackney)! Oh and he took Sunderland’s penalties. Looks brilliant if he is fully fit. (y)

Exactly this

SEVENTEEN

He’d be great but I’m just not sure how he’d fit in given our other players unless someone left.
He can play in a number of positions..

We have players injured and unavailable..

McGree and Silvera unavailable.. McGree with plantar fasciy.. Gilbert has been injured.. Greenwood would likely not play against Leeds in a playoff. Latte Lath injured., Coburn seems to struggle with a high volume of games.. probably his age..

Jones/Diallo/Silvera
Crooks/Azaz/Gilbert
Rogers/McGree/Greenwood

Forss/Latte Lath/Coburn

Makes a great low risk addition.. if we get the chance we should take it.

He has been on the bench for ManUre lately and got some limited minutes. I think if they let him on loan they will want him to be at a higher level than Championship. Could forsee him going to Ligue 1 or La Liga. Would love to have him though. He would improve any team in the Championship.

It will come down to the finances involved. If he is willing to play in the championship, and Man Utd are prepared to sanction a loan, it will be to whoever will pay his wages (he is rumoured to be on 30k a week) and give a hefty loan fee. That wont be us, or them up the road either. II imagine he will go prem or abroad, but if he does go to the championship I could see him at Southampton or Leicester, especially if either of those teams lose a forward player during the window

Judging from his time up the road Amad is a game changer, he can pull a rabbit out of the hat in the blink of an eye.
January is a notoriously hard month to sign players, especially strikers.
We jumped the queue last year for Archer with Danks connection but this year could be tougher.
If it's to be believed Vasquez was number one target until he got a very, very lavish contract elsewhere'.

If we weren't to sign a striker and we beleived we could get our main man in the summer then so be it. The return of Marcus Forss is a huge boost. I'd love a striker but these days I trust the club not to make bad decisions

If he came in I think that would be the end of Crooksie
i don’t think he would come unless there was an option of a permanent transfer.. probably doesn’t fit our financial plan thinking sensibly about it.

Carrick seems to have avoided Man Utd.. maybe that is deliberate. Everything would be Alex Ferguson this Alex Ferguson that.

All that being said.. we have had our fair share of injuries. Maybe it’s the increased workload? I think Diallo would work in a number of positions.. but perhaps a very expensive sticking plaster.

Everyone kind of wants to throw the plan out of the window when something exciting comes along.. the prospect of upsetting the mackems alone!!

Re the showreel, he reminds me of Arjen Robben, in that he appears to score the same goal again and again. Need to show him the outside when he's on the right.

League cup semi final against Chelsea
League cup final against Liverpool
Playoff final against Leeds

What are we looking at? 24 games? Two trips to Wembley.. Carrick, Woodgate & Danksy.. tifo displays..

I can think of worse situations to be in for half a season.. us in the championship beats bottom three in the premier league imo.

17 games in the prem..

I wouldn’t fancy it tbh

Southampton are also targeting a winger on loan this month with Manchester United's 21-year-old Ivory Coast international Amad Diallo and Bournemouth's Wales international David Brooks, 26, on their shortlist. (Givemesport)

He'd go there surely? They may have brought in slightly more in transfer fees than us, and have a couple of quid in parachute payments too, so can probably afford him.
