I was sat right next to her and was most certainly not a clapping seal...I couldn't slap my hand on her mouth to keep her quiet otherwise would have been arrested, so sat there shaking my head so public would know that we don't all agree with her deluded mind
 
I haven't read all the posts - Some extreme characters in the audience e.g. the bloke who said illegal immigrants were "mostly drug dealers and criminals". The woman who said Houchen was basically perfect etc and ahd restored steelmaking (un true of course there is an electric furnace planned years into the future). I didn't see any south Asian decendent representatives in the audience, even though they could represent 10%? of Middlesbrough.

Ref lack of jobs on Teesside - I am glad it was discussed and RD did get it right when he said the problem started in 1979 not 2010. He was also correct to say the men who worked at SSI Redcar/ICI will be doing jobs on less pay now if they are working and stayed in the Area. SSI Redcar closed in October 2015, now 8.5 years on how many permanent jobs have been created in Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, Green technologies on Teesside?

I was also shocked to hear major public libraries in the region are run by volunteers nowadays.

I am south Asian and was sat next to the Ben Houchen fan club, shaking my head 🤣🤣
 
"We've got our airport back" left me practically in tears. Couldn't help thinking of the Springfield monorail (which Liddle was basically campaigning for later in the session?!)

Just feels soooo small time. Least it's worked its magic on some of the electorate, a massive white elephant used to distract from the real state of the eCONomy.

Meanwhile Rome burns....
