* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Ipswich [04/24] Match-Day thread *

We're a threat on the break, Latte Lath, Azaz and Jones have looked dangerous, Silvera not so much. It's just defensively and getting up the pitch looks such a struggle for us, once we get the ball to the front 4 I fancy us to cause anyone problems but it's painful up to that point.
Bangura should get 20-25 in front of Engel, shore us up and offer a bit of threat with his pace

its close but I can honestly say that Silvera is worse than Greenwood. Both are liabilities and offer nothing. Silvera has either lost the ball or being outmuscled at least half a dozen times this half. He's as weak as pish !
Or put it another way, get a bit of quality at LW in the summer and it will make a huge difference to our team

Hard for me to comment much as my stream was so stop start and lost totally for the last 5 minutes.

Ipswich seemed to be fairly dominant but disappointing to concede a soft goal from a corner.

There’s plenty on here who think he’s worth a £5m bid! Need to find better than him if we want to go up, he’s not fit to lace howson’s boots

Genuinely don’t know what he offers, he’s always doing those daft floated passes that goes straight to the opposition.

I’m wondering if others are seeing something I’m not.

It’s like playing with 8 men when we lose the ball, Jones, Azaz and Silvera offer nothing defensively.

These are the worst local commentators I've heard this season.
On a par with Birmingham. Before we scrored I thought we were playing Brazil circa. 1970. " Brilliant Out of this world, the best, we are stunning, unbeliveable , as good as Pele, just like Messi, best weve played all season, that was a 100% penalty, superb, how good are we.... and on and on it went " .....
Then we scored and near silence. I expected the two commentators and the token women who speaks every 5 minutes to start crying .

That left side is a problem and it's not all Engel either.
Azaz is good on the ball, but not quick enough. Silvera is quick, but far too easily knocked off the ball and O'Brien isn't quick enough to spot the danger and get into position.
They all know that Carrick wants Engel to get forward so they have to do their bit and work the ball wide to him and drop in to cover.
