I don't think we've ever heard any EXPERT commentary from Dion Dublin. The last straw for me was when he covered the North Macedonia - England qualifier and patiently explained that Harry Maguire's rugby tackle in the box was not a penalty because contact was above the waist.🙄

Yes.
He sounds like a schoolteacher of old, randomly shouting at pupils.
Said it on another forum - if Sky had any interest they would get Adam Summerton from TNT, who’s an excellent commentator. Or bring back Ian Darke.
But they went for the cheap option didn’t they.

That’s like being punched in the face and saying at least it wasn’t a kick in plums.
 
I like him. Might be a bit overly verbose at times with his soliloquies but it's quite a novel concept to have a commentator who sounds like he enjoys football as opposed to the Lee Dixon's, Martin Keown's, Danny Murphy's, Jermaine Jenas' on other channels, even Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have just turned in to cartoon soundboards that just yodel in Scouse or go OOOOoOOOOooooOOOHHHHHH at everything that happens.
 
Can't say I have a problem with Drury I can sort of tune him out he's not in your ear constantly. Dunno.

I do enjoy Mcoist in small doses, yes he does get a bit repetitive I'll grant.
 
How come nobody is being called out for misandry? Just mention Lucy Ward and her nails on blackboard voice and utter drivel and the pitchforks are out.
 
Ally McCoist always makes me think that he’s just walked off of a set from Rab C. Nesbitt. When he adds an ‘h’ after words beginning with an S is quite funny, I.e., shee that tackle 😂

You’re not. I barely notice the commentator and pundits. They’re just voices, and blokes with opinions. Very much like this board except some of them have scored goals in the Champions League final and stuff.

The only thing that’s ever annoyed me is Martin Tyler’s “AND ITS LIVE” that in truth he was probably told to say by someone else.
 
I actually don’t notice the commentary other than mcoist because he says it as it is - doesn’t ‘protect’ players because he used to play and he is not worried about what people think.

I do notice our mark Drury because when I’m listening to the boro game on the radio I want a picture painted of the game not drurys life and opinions.
I want him to commentate on the game and not get over excited when the opposition score like he currently does.

He also, when Boro score, doesn’t shout goal (!) he shouts things like arrrrghhhh!!!! And im like, what what ??? Is it a goal or fcuking what ?

We can’t see anything and the nerd needs to get that into his head!!!!
