What was your favourite arcade machine

Space Invaders in the old cafe on Middlesbrough railway station. Would have been the very early 80s.

What was your favourite arcade machine

Chase HQ - a police racing game where you had limited time to catch up with a stolen car and then ram it several times to force it to stop, before going onto the next level and doing it all again. You drove a black Porsche 928 and the target cars were things like a Lamborghini Countach or Lotus...

Best ever sci fi space ship?

I'm going for the ship in Zenon 2 - Megablast on the Amiga, with full-on Super Nashwan Power in effect!

Not forgetting that Camilla is now six months pregnant with twins....🤣

I came across this old video of some Boro fans in 1991 in a pub.

It's from the slightly Leeds sounding 'Marching On Together' video, which was released by Yorkshire Television halfway through the 91/92 promotion season. It used to be my favourite Boro video as it includes plenty of footage showing what match day was like from a supporter's perspective in the...

First goal yesterday - playing out from the back / Greenwood

Ah cheers, that makes sense. It shows that you can't read too much into a brief highlights package.

First goal yesterday - playing out from the back / Greenwood

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but having watched the highlights of yesterday's match I wondered why Greenwood's reaction was so muted after the first goal? Engel came straight over to him but he didn't look at all happy. Having said that the team's reaction to taking the lead...

One point off the play offs and home to bottom of the table Rotherham next

Given that we contrived to lose in a typical Boro manner against the same team just a couple of weeks ago, I'm worryingly confident we won't do the same thing again 😬

    unusual footballers?

I remember Jimmy Phillips saying of Boro fans 'Away from home they're very vociferous' in an interview on the Marching On Together video - think it's the first time I'd ever heard the word vociferous and based on that I assumed he must have been a bright type 🙂

Wasn't 390 the local sport page on Ceefax?

Tickets back in the old days

Yep, the club would announce that, say, Voucher G was needed to buy a ticket for a certain game, and you'd hand it over. I remember them insisting that you tore it out of the season ticket book at the counter!

    Greenwood’s miss

Love the bloke pitchside, just to the left of the goalpost - leaning back with hands over his face 😃

    Our Previous League Cup Semis

Wasn't the most memorable game. I can recall Parky had a couple of long range efforts on target that Schmeichel clawed away, and I'm sure Mark Hughes or Neil Webb put the ball over the bar from a couple of yards out at the East End.

Can anybody in Teesside see the rainbow clouds?

Was visible to the south from Gateshead too this morning. Don't think I've ever seen anything like it before.

If you’ve got young kids, please get out and enjoy the snow with them.

Just got back from two hours in Saltwell Park sledging with the kids. As a responsible parent I had the first go down the hill in the interests of checking it was safe 😃

    Shops that don't exist anymore

Anyone else remember Forshaws the tobacconist shop that was at one of the entrances to the Cleveland Centre facing out onto Albert Rd?

    Shops that don't exist anymore

Don't recognise this shop - where was it? I remember Chips being upstairs above a shop on Linthorpe Rd in the late 80s. My Grandma worked in a bridal wear shop on the corner of Linthorpe Rd and King Edward's Rd and Chips was opposite, so I used to go in to see her and then pop over the road to...
