🐙Cut your energy bills nearly in half with Octopus Tracker

Octopus have been a nightmare for me so far
I am generating 6 times more than I am using since installing 4kw solar panels on our roof.
They are charging me £138 a month based on usage last year and because I dared to complain they have frozen my export payments pending further investigation.
Customer service is non existing. I am wishing I'd gone elsewhere.

Just spoke to someone called Phil in customer service.
Hopefully all now resolved.

Daily Gas Tracker Tariff Prices Chart

Daily Electric Tracker Tariff Prices Chart

Just had an email of Eon saying my tariff is dropping next month. Says the new prices will save me about £20 a month on gas and £3 a month on electric 🤷‍♂️

I had an email off my provider SO Energy. They are lowering my monthly DD to £82 from £102. I'm also £500 in credit.

They predict i will use around £1645 of energy over the next year.

I must say joining Octopus has not gone smoothly at all for me , they have only just today taken over my gas supply , as they only took over my electric when I joined despite emails back and forth saying it was sorted , direct debit prices are all over the place , and today I received an email congratulating me on being a customer now , and my first DD will be taken on the 25/05/23 :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's dropping because the price cap is falling, so you will save money. Octopus tracker is still cheaper than the prices it's dropping to.

Nightmare - unfortunately no matter how good a company is; there will always be some things that go wrong for some people.

So, it's the 1st July and I (along with 50k others) can move onto the tracker tariff.

Still worth it, what's the situation against prices coming down generally?

These are the forecast rates for end of 2023/start of 2024

Octopus tracker currently far lower than both so stands to reason wholesale prices should remain low

I've joined the tracked this morning, I am expecting it to be cheaper than either of the EV tariffs they offer, especially since the wife does less than 150mile a week in her EV.

Not too late to join - this is a long thread but all info in opening post

Octopus have now opened it up to the July 1st people but still allowing people to switch, at worst you're paying the same lower price cap rate but get £50 free. At best you save 30-50%+ and pay far lower rates

Our DD has gone from £270 to £100 (we are high usage electric users) and it's been class.

Wholesale rates are forecast to drop slowly so tracked should continue to drop in price in line with this as it follows wholesale prices

Even a rise in gas costs in winter should still see a massive annual saving

They'll do everything for you to switch, just follow this link

But read opening post first for details on how it works

Just got my June billing, £54 combined for gas and electricity....fantastic savings, jump on the bandwagon
Wild isn't it. So many of my friends still on EPG as convinced it is too good to be true, despite you can leave the tracker with fairly short notice and go onto price cap.

Got the email that I can transfer to the tracker yesterday. Just filled out the form, hoping to make some savings. Currently pay £170 per month for both.

Absolutely agree,it's a complete no brainer, each day on your account you can see the daily rates, if they spike at any time over a prolonged period (not forecast to do) you can pull out.
I'm saving at least £100 per month, probably more, what's not to like?

You can work out your savings fairly easily with a quick excel spreadsheet

If you're on octopus already and use iOS, use octo-aid app and you can compare tariffs and see what you would have paid previous month and expected costs over a year
