199 steps? Where's the lift?!

It reminds me of that Trip Advisor report from a few years ago, when a woman complained that there's no cafe at the top of Ben Nevis. I was working up there a few years back and one of the Mountain Rescue volunteers said in the Summer they regularly get called out because daft, drunk lasses decide they can get up it in stilettoes etc at closing time.

Natural selection. In a bygone age, these people would have been dragged off into the woods by bears after trying to pet them.

There is, of course, a route to the top without using the steps. I'm sure if she had asked someone would have pointed her in the right direction.
Instead of turning left after the swing bridge, go right, past the Parkol ship builders yard, and turn left at Green lane. The first hundred yards is pretty steep, though it eases off the rest of the way.
There's a few little alleys on the way that takes you up, but these involve steps and steep paths too.
You can always get a taxi🤣
