Durie scored and they won 1-0 on the day, but we won 2-1 on aggregate

Me and my late father were caught on the BBC film of the Boro end , so those pictures bring back happy memories

We were never bothered about the invasion after their stewards opened the gates -the Boro fans on the pitch jumped back into the away end, and their yobs were never going to follow them with thousands of Boro fans there
Getting back to the car was a bit nervy mind

I was there of course...a bit nervy is a massive understatement...Getting back to Kings Cross was like a war zone !

It was one game I was happy to stay back for 45 minutes. I felt I had just survived Rourke's Drift (in 1879)
You say Rourke's Drift. My thoughts were on the final whistle were, that is the closest I will get to knowing what its like to stand in a shield wall, with the Viking hoards coming at you

Yeh someone had a heart attack, we were all screeming to the stewarts to get help but took them ages, in the end they to him, never heard what happened

One of the great days following The Boro.

walked to the ground from Paddington, through Hyde Park , across Sloane Square and up the Kings Rd - had a bit of a stand off outside The Black Bull - the chelsea fans were keen to come out the pub, but they wernt keen to go any further !

They were never going to come too close to our end after the final whistle - it was just the usual bravado knowing the cops would keep them safe - their stewards were the problem.

outside afterwards was entertaining - but ive seen worse at sunlun, man city and spurs - at least at those three places their lads actually wanted to fist fight, rather than throw bricks, glasses and chairs.

Great day out, Chelsea the only team to be relegated via the play offs from the top flight.
Good quiz question that
I wish they would bring that back One from the PL to fight in the play offs. As we saw adds a bit of spice.
And dare I pray the one be Chelsea of one of the breakaway 6

IIRC Slaven hit the bar before they scored? Boro fans in the ‘family stand’ jumped up and the Chelsea nutters got a bit irate.

I was 17. I was in the main away end staying over at my sisters house in London. Got the tube to Covent Garden and had a lovely celebratory pint in the Punch & Judy.

London is so huge....once in the tourist zone you felt you could relax and enjoy the win 👍👍😀😀

I remember it being a free for all approaching the ground.

Cop said "run down there and there will be someone waiting"
We said "any chance of an escort"
to which he replied "No chance, we're not going down there"

seem to remember lots of lads in QPR shirts mixed in with the Chelsea lads.

It was a bit hairy at times but wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Think Cooper hit the bar - maybe an overhit cross - and Slaven missed the rebound
I think - but not 100 per cent - they hit the woodwork too before Durie scored. I felt him and Nevin were the danger men. I could only see them scoring more up until half time - and was so relieved we got to half time still 2-1 up
The 2nd half though we just coasted to full time fairly comfortably
There were 2 West Ham fans behind me who hates Chelsea, and just went to see them get relgated
