.

I think its looking more and more like Edwards. I suppose with all candidates there are positives and negatives. As I wasn’t particularly a fan I have been trying to look at the positives.
1) Likely to be on the same page as Scott. Having his ear might mean he gets his targets.
2) I think he only lost once with Watford and beat Sheff Utd and Burnley. i know they haave decent individuals but I think lack a team ethos
3) Was not fixated with 352 with Watford, which has been sussed out v us.
4) Did start well with Forest Green.
I probably have more negatives if I am honest but I dont think you should have sticks to beat people with without giving them a fair crack of the whip.

Trying to gee up the idea in my own head too now, so I don't blame you, but he lost twice with Watford in the league, and another time in the cup.

Also can't help but ignore just how undeserving they were of a win against us.

Right o. I’ll start by giving him a fair crack with the whip, then beat him with those sticks 😀

it’s going the same way as the Southgate appointment. O’Neill was on the verge but like carrick out blockers in place

Two observations from me.

One is that his odds being short, as we’ve seen with this search, basically means nowt yet.

Secondly, if it is him, expectations will be as low as possible, which can only be a good thing. Even when Woody was appointed quite a lot of folk on here/Twitter got excited that he “spoke well” in his first presser. (All managers “speak well” in their first presser).

Can see it now….searched high and low, Lee was the outstanding candidate.

He not only had a great powerpoint presentation, but he also did an Excel spreadsheet showing how we could buy Haaland for 26p then surprised us all with a Word document about getting hammered in Yarm. After that there was only one decision we could make.
5/4. I genuinely cannot believe we are considering Lee Clattermole. If it happens I honestly can’t continue. What on earth is wrong with us

If Cattermole is chosen, then it will be an unfathomable decision and one which seems entirely at odds with what seems to be a detailed & methodical process to find a new coach.

He has next to zero experience and I'm struggling to come up with reasons why he would be appointed, I
It’s actually scary the way the hierarchy think at our club. Just spiralling out of control. I wish KS would just move abroad and never return

This would be a a proper Boro appointment this like…….. topping the appointment of Woodgate by a country mile. If it is Cattermole I’ll be more disappointed than when he “give it Agnew till the end of the season” something which I didn’t think could be beaten on the scale of disappointment

Keeping costs down? Boro academy lad with a managerial route for progression?

Southgate - player to manager
Woodgate - player to coach to manager
Cattermole - academy to player to coach to manager

It’s the fans who go home and away week in week out that I really feel for. I can’t get to many away games due to other commitments but our fans really deserve so much better. If all we can come up with is Clattermole we really are Donald ducked.

Completely agree, it feels like one step forward and two steps back and has done for a good while…….

Everything was rosey and Wilder was doing a half decent job not so long back and within a few months we are fumbling around at the bottom end of the league without a manger struggling to score goals and considering cattermole for the job!

You have to feel for those fans going home and away week in week out and seeing performances they’ve witnessed recently

Catts has turned out to be a good coach, but hes no managerial experience - but like someone said earlier - Leadbitter would be better by a mile.
If Catts got the job and failed, I would be more angry with those who appointed him. Its not fair on him.

I couldn't believe we are considering Cattermole or Carrick. We need someone with experience of managing players well.
As much as I'm not keen on the football he had Burnley playing Dyche is the one for me.

True bud. It’s scary how quick things change in footy. We started to feel like maybe just maybe we’d found the one. Or at least try to entertain and play decent football.

It literally went from one end of the spectrum right to the other. I never expected to be where we are right now. We know we’ve got some decent players at this level. Surely there’s a manager out there who can come in. Galvanise it a bit and try get them enjoying their football again, someone the players will respect.

We might not be the biggest club but we have an amazing following who deserve some ambition and we having no control over these decisions the club makes is the hardest thing about being a fan.
