40% of the season done, where will we finish?

How will the season end for Boro?

Tending to agree with Heam, it’s all dependent on the January window.
In addition of course getting back some of our current crop of injured crocs.

But we won’t - we simply don’t have the quality or strength in depth to keep winning that percentage of games. We also have to play Leeds twice, Ipswich twice, Hull twice (my tip as this seasons dark horses), travel to Leicester and Southampton, along with facing West Brom and Blackburn at The Riverside. That is a lot of very tough games

On the flip side we have beaten Leicester and Southampton, both Blackburn n West Brom have to come to the riverside and poor Ipswich and the Dirties have got to play us twice yet…

Tough run for those teams also…

Yes you have a point there - we can give anyone in this league a game if we are at our best on the day. I still think it will be quite some achievement if we manage to pip one of the three that came down to promotion, as i think those are the teams that everyone else has to catch

Depending on whether you discount the terrible form we had at the start, or the six won in a row as our blip, we're probably just about positioned correctly in the table based on our squad vs the others in the division.

That said, I thought the six games starting Tuesday would be critical and will determine whether we are genuine promotion contenders or one of several sides with a chance of the playoffs. I would certainly take a point at Leeds now, and I'm also sure any side coming to the Riverside would be happy with a point. Hull, Ipswich and West Brom all have to do that in December. Then from Boxing Day we have a run of very winnable games, so a couple of wins in the next weeks will have us in a good position to kick on.

I fancy us for the play offs again.

I am not sure we would be ready for promotion with this squad, just yet.
I wouldnt want us going up just to be cannon fodder for the premier league like those that got promoted last season. Gibbo might disagree, of course.
