9th at New Year

Would you have taken that before a ball was kicked. I think we should be about 4th or 5th with some of the close games we have had, but only a few points away from the playoffs. Only two spots available for me now as I think Leicester Saints Ipswich and Leeds will occupy the top 4.

With the the run of injuries we’ve had i think we’re doing well to be hanging in there. I honestly think we’d be top six now if we had anything like our best side out more often than not - and let’s face it we have been missing a heck of a lot of regular starters for more than half the games we’ve played now.

I said in the summer we have bought not for this season. And got pelters on here.

I think we looked at the teams that came down with plus 200million squads and bought for the future.

They are playing and learning. We are aiming for next year.
I think there was also an element of how much money we had helped direct competitors make in terms of increased transfer value of our loanees.

It’s about right.
We’ve won a couple of games I expected us to lose (one because injuries and the other the mauling last time round) and lost one to a freak lob.

Transfer window in a few days… I think we’ve got some money put aside for that.

I can’t quite believe we’re so close to 6th. It shows either how competitive the league is, or how inconsistent a load of teams are (including Boro).

Happy to keep in touch with the playoffs and pray for a good run in(better than about 10 other teams!).
The truth is, if we win 2 or 3 games on the bounce we jump into the playoffs. The teams around us are no better than we are and we have a lot of influential players to come back

Well it would depend how many points off the play offs 9th was!
The middle of this league is so congested that league position is a deceiving indicator of progress. We were 14th before kick off and now we are 9th, it is that tight.

Before the season I would have been disappointed in our position but after our start to be 3 points off playoffs with all our injuries is crazy. If you can string a run of wins together like we did before we will fly up.

That's what you want from a loanee. You want them to perform, not play poorly and end up on the bench.

If we'd gone up we could have taken one on permanently and kept our top scorer.

The position doesn't sound amazing. Especially if you'd said it during the summer.

Yet the more relivant stat is 3 points off the playoffs. I'd definitely take that considering the injuries we have and also the upheaval of so many player departures and new signings (many young and inexperienced).

We thrown a few points away recently. We should have beat Hull. Also don't get me started on boxing day. I still can't workout how we lost at Rotherham.

I've been pretty impressed with our attacking play over the last few weeks. That's without an actual CF. We have also looked better defensively.

I'd say I'm pretty happy so far. Clearly the top 2 absolutely running away with it hasn't helped anyone.
