A POLITICAL POST

Another common fallacy. Someone with a degree or higher from a traditional university who works in a profession is Middle Class. Look up Middle Class in the Dictionary. Doctors, GP's, Surgeons all work hard, but they are Middle Class by definition. Ditto Barristers, Solicitors, some MP's ;)

The delusion that if you work you are working class has become very widespread. Middle Class definition was "highly educated and work in a profession" before access to higher education was greatly widened. The margins then became blurred so the old system was replaced by the socio-economic classification grades A, B, C1, C2, D and E produced by the ONS (UK Office for National Statistics). C1 = lower middle class has the highest number of people in it
I prefer Marx definition rather than the Capitalist alternative you've highlighted.

There are one or two sorta snidey reponses to, what most, would consider reasonable societal goals. Whilst working <> working class, I am sure Newy knows that already and was simplifying for the benefit of a social media platform.
The goal of many is simply to serve with no ambition for democracy. They belt out Land of Hope and Glory the loudest without thinking about the words.

Let's not not get into the left wing right wing debate and the working class. If you work for a living you are working class no matter if you live in a semi detached house in Ingleby Barwick or you are self employed on the graft traveling up and down the country paying as little tax as the system allows.. whilst your paymaster makes a ton off your work avoiding national insurance contributions and can sack you off without as much as a wink or a glance. We're all on the same team.

1. Our main goal 'Democracy' one person one vote, it should go without saying, introduce proportional representation (STV) for parliamentary elections and local elections.

2. Lets roll back privatisation of the NHS right back! All this save the talk of protect the NHS means nothing if we don't roll back the Health and Social Care Act 2012.

3. Free education. Education should be a right not a privilege, our kids are being left back having to pay fees. Educations shouldn't be a privilege only available to the rich.

4. For jobs. Investment in infrastructure, give our money straight to the working man to improve our country. Lets start a green industrial revolution.

5. Time Warner, Disney, Murdoch's News Corporation, and Viacom. Tighten the rules on media ownership, no individual or company owns more than 20% of any media market.

6. No Second jobs for MPs, including a ban on holding paid directorships or consultancies. Decisions need to be made outside of what might benefit any certain individual.

7. 'Seven Lords a Leaping' a policy that is prominent on the right wing but be can all agree that unelected officials cannot possibly play a part in a modern day democracy.

8. We hate paying tax, but not more than having cooperation's and party donors being gifted our money via tax loopholes or giveaways. Make them pay, Take it back.

9. One of our main strikers. Just because you are working for Mike Ashley doesn't mean you shouldn't have the same working rights afforded to any other man, woman or otherwise.

10. Another potential striker constantly setting us up for the win, feeding into the rest of our economy deserves nothing less than £10 an hour. A living wages.

11. Bringing public services back into public ownership. We've already paid for it.. why pay a company propped up by our government more money for what we already paid for?

I absolutely agree with this, just expand point 7 to cover monarchy since she has been caught changing over 1,000 laws to her personal advantage and charles was caught in the black spider letter scandal. There is no place in a democracy for unelected meddling.

did you just eat an avacado and turn middle class?

have a look at how many politicians don’t have to work for a living, descendants of titled nobility the middle class (the ruling class) how many 5th and 6th cousins of the queen make decisions that impact on those that have to work for a living. how many went to the same school, the same year, how many ‘lost’ or ‘disappeared’ evidence relating to westminster criminal activity

No one can apply to be a MP until they have worked ,or run a business ( successfully) for a period not less than 15 years from the age of 16.
Cut out all that toadying 'researcher' nonsense.

The concept of the ‘middle class’ is a construct of the ruling class in order to help divide the working class. The fact that some workers might be better educated or earn slightly more money than other workers is irrelevant.

Under the capitalist system, either you work for your money or your money works for you.

I should move away from sharing my thoughts on the current political landscape, stop sharing ideas.. and follow by your example of trawling the internet and waiting for the right opportunity to post something interesting and thought provoking like your good self? Noted x

So because I prefer the modern UK socio-economic classifications, I have somehow surrendered my ****? :ROFLMAO:

Bonkers
Who defined them, what do they mean? They are meant as a marketing tool for companies to use to sell you products or services. Whilst it may be accurate to describe you in a way that means you may prefer a kenwood toaster to a no brand supermarket version.. it doesn't define you as a person and does not reflect the current political landscape or structure of rule.

You're being sold a product, you are being marketed, being sold an aspiration in much the same as if you buy a pair of Nike trainers you will be in someway as cool as a chart topping rapper or you can share in the athletic achievements of your favourite sports person.

Vote Conservative: you can be middle class
Vote Labour: you can be middle class with a conscience

Someone needs to come out with
'Stop voting for psychopaths who want to steal your right to an education, your right to healthcare, vote for democracy where your vote will count and those we you vote for will be made accountable for their actions.'
