A week before season starts - predict our finishing position?

Still impossible to say.
New contract for Akpom, sign Archer, borrow Ramsey, a good LB and a DM then I think we will be minimum play offs.
Current squad with more signings like we have made so far, then we will be below 6th and maybe a way back.
Fingers crossed we bring in the quality we desperately need.
 
As things stand (and I expect them to remain largely the same in terms of quality)

With hopefully some exciting football. Not enough firepower, muscled by nasty championship sides with an eye for a cross and a header.
 
As it stands we'll struggle to make the playoffs.

If this is indeed a consolidating season, i'll be happy with top 8
 
We will improve our squad in the next month, so with that in mind, and a full season with Carrick in charge then playoffs minimum.

Replacement for Giles and Archer top 2

any long term injuries or departures to be covered by loans..
 
With current squad - 10th at best. We have no fit RB, a LB who wasn't good enough in the past, half a dozen new recruits we have to pray can hit the ground running and a mystery over our main goal scorer. Howson needs cover and there is none. Even with him fit we weren't always capable of breaking up play in midfield. 4 key positions to fill with experience a must.
 
Couple of new signings and we might be able to get Gibbo his coveted 12th place finish.

Archer, Giles, Ramsey, were first teamers not replaced - there must be around 15 points lost there which would take us down to 60 points so go with 10th. The Championship is also going to be tougher.

we replaced ramsey by signing silviera gilbert and rogers. we are actively looking for a striker and a lb. payero is back. squad is stronger than last season before we got any loans in. we are 100% play off challenger. with the current squad. sign the right players on loan and perm CF and LB and we will be right up there with saints leicester and leeds. i personally think leeds will be very strong. their weak defence wont get exposed like in the prem. and i think they are capable of blowing teams away in attack.
 
Yeah as a few have said, as it stands I'd say 10th.

Hopefully we bring a few in and the gaffer does another great job. Would be very happy indeed if we somehow managed the Playoffs again
 
It will be really difficult this year with the 3 down better than the 3 going up and 2 coming up in a good position to push on.
We are weaker as it stands.
Cov are weaker as it stands and the others, west Brom Norwich Blackburn millwall etc haven’t greatly improved either.

I trust we’ll see a few more in by September and wouldn’t be surprised if we have a marquee loan signing.
I think Dieng, big van and rogers will play a lot of football and I’m confident we will comfortably be in the play offs
 
Second season syndrome for Carrick, I’m going 5th, ok I’ve changed my mind based on what the other clubs have been up to, which isn’t a lot.

I seem to think the same thing every pre season. If we get 3 or 4 decent additions (LB, CM, CF) then definite play offs and flirting with autos. If not I think we will have to be very lucky with injuries to get in the play offs. Our performance v Betis gives me some encouragement though.
