A week before season starts - predict our finishing position?

As it stands - 6th. I think we will play some beautiful football and I think we might be underestimating how well coached we will be. That is a significant advantage.

Add CF, LB and 3 Prem loans (DM, RB and Ramsey) and we will be top two.
 
Oh and I have a feeling this thread will become a whole lot more positive after people see today's game!
 
5th. Almost regardless of the playing staff I think our system will see us win more than lose (if that makes sense?)

Genuinely think there's more quality in the division this year too.
 
Be disappointed if we don't improve on last year's campaign with a full season and pre season with Carrick so at least third
 
With the squad as is 9th at best, goals will be in short supply, with a ST, AM, LB, CDM, of Quality of an Archer/Ramsey et al then 2nd may be possible If Chuba stays too.
 
Somewhere between 2nd and 12th, but I won’t commit beyond that until the window shuts and we know the future of Akpom and which additional signings/loans we make
 
3rd or 4th.
We had a terrible start to last season and still made the playoffs comfortably.

I wonder if it will be "let's see how we are doing at Christmas" as to who we bring in?

Think Carrick has been found out and the league will be very tough next season with Leeds , saints and Leicester coming down
 
we are all lamenting the loss of Archer and Ramsey but before they arrived in January we had fantastic spell once Carrick took over without either of them, also was Ramsey that important I think he only played 9 games was often second choice when McGree was fit, don't get me wrong Ramsey looks great player and would love to have him back but don't think he was that important to our success last season as made out on here

we have a decent squad which we proved last season by finishing fourth and we will improve on in the coming weeks
best manager in the league, if we had Carrick whole of last season we would of finished higher than fourth
but obviously time will tell but not sure why all the doom and gloom

I prefer to call it realism, based on perceived quality.

Currently we have bought a showroom full of potential, we do not know what quality it is when the chips are down. We really do not have any proven quality in the final 3rd, bar Akpom

Crooks isn’t a forward but he’ll pop up with a few as per usual, akpom is the only known goalscorer and to expect him to get 20 is a big ask with less quality around him as far as we can tell, and he is currently injured and not match fit and he may yet be sold. I don’t see goals in this team as is, and thats fairly realistic, not doom and gloom. The question is about now, not what we have on 2 September.

Hopefully once some ‘quality’ new additions are brought in and people have seen us play 4 or 5 games with the potential in the kids, some of us may hold a different opinion. Nowt wrong with a bit of honesty rather than kid ourselves, surely?
